Nov. 26 (Bloomberg) — Tiffany & Co., the world’s second- largest luxury-jewelry retailer, said profit fell and cut its forecast as sales dropped for the first time in almost seven years amid the global financial crisis.
Tiffany predicted full-year earnings of $2.30 to $2.50 a share, lower than the $2.82 to $2.92 it said in August, as revenue retreats as much as 2 percent.

H&M to launch homeware collection in February 09
It’s time to inject fashion into the home. Early 2009 will see H&M revolutionizing the way style-savvy consumers shop for home textiles and accessories. Exclusively available online and through a directional mail order catalogue, this is H&M’s first foray into the interiors arena and will offer shoppers the opportunity to stylishly transform every room of the home. The first collection will be available from February 2009 in the markets where distance selling is already established: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.

I went to the launch of Vera Wang’s new perfume, Look. It was sponsored by Fashion Magazine and held at Panorama. It was a fun event and I spent time with friends and enjoyed the view. That’s me in the picture at the bar. Yup, the mustard tights. Love them! The skirt was a present from the owner of Print Vintage. It was originally a halter top dress that was unwearable. She couldn’t sell it and gave it to me one day when I was buying a dress. I got my handy sewing friend Danielle (finalfashion.ca) to turn it into a skirt. It’s pretty kick ass.

There was a large ice sculpture display for the launch to show off the glass prism characteristics of the bottle. The ad campaign doesn’t bother me and that’s a very rare thing for perfume. Coty developed the fragrance. I’m by no means a perfume expert so I’ll let them describe it for you:

Look was created in cooperation with Firmenich. It introduces notes of mandarin, watery greens, litchi and golden deliches apple in the top notes. The heart incorporates lily, freesia and jasmine, while the base notes introduce a rhapsody of sweet vanilla, musk, oak moss and patchouli. (source)

The perfume itself isn’t heavy at all. It has a very light scent that isn’t repugnant. I actually like it even though it’s not something I would normally gravitate too. Flowerbomb and Hot Couture are some of my favs right now.

Owner of Fashion Bug, Lane Bryant plans more store closings
Charming Shoppes Inc., the Pennsylvania-based parent company of the Fashion Bug, Catherines, and Lane Bryant retail chains, plans to close more stores across the country after posting mounting losses for the third quarter and year-to-date periods. In a quarterly financial filing dated Nov. 25, company officials announced the closing of as many as 100 additional stores during fiscal year 2010. The company also posted a net loss in the third quarter of $92.9 million, or 81 cents per share. That was far worse then the same period a year ago when the company had net losses of $3.5 million, or 3 cents per share.

U.S. retailers accused of mislabelling furs
WASHINGTON–The Humane Society of the United States has filed a lawsuit against six major retailers and fashion designers alleging they falsely advertise and label fur garments. The suit claims that Dillard's, Lord & Taylor, Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and designer Andrew Marc misrepresent fur products by labelling and marketing them as "faux fur," when they are not; or by advertising and labelling products as common raccoon, fox or rabbit fur, when they are really made from raccoon
