OK… So I have to add a comment about the frugal fashionista article. I think that it is great that fashion and styling has taken itself to the masses…. Let’s be honest here… it helps to get the city looking more “fashionable”. (by fashionista standards)
The one thing I will say is that I hope people understand when they are buying these clothes that they are buying disposable clothing that will look good for a while, but in the end will have to be tossed at the end of the season because of wear and tear. I think that people should be aware that when you pay 9 dollars for a top, you get 9 dollars worth of value. I bought a top from Joe Fresh, and after a few washed the seams started falling apart….. I think that as a disposable fashion idea it really worked out, but I also think people should be realize that you pay for what you get.
Don’t get me wrong. That doesn’t mean that people should run out an buy designer clothing if it is not in their budget. Let’s be real here, designer clothing is probably made in the same factories as many mainstream lines. I think that people should think of some pieces as investment, and invest in them so that they last a while. In the mean time… pick-up your forward items at places like Zara and H and M. We all need to be realistic with our living situations.
