NEW YORK — Yoga-inspired sportswear firm Lululemon Athletica Inc. had another cause for inner calm and serenity Thursday as its second-quarter results remained unaffected by current retail woes.The Vancouver, British Columbia-based retail-vendor hybrid reported Thursday that profits for the quarter ended Aug. 3 were up 117.6 percent to $11.1 million, or 16 cents a diluted share, from 5.1 million, or 7 cents a share, a year ago. Sales in the period rose 47.6 percent to $85.5 million from $57.9 million last year.
