  • Owner of Fashion Bug, Lane Bryant plans more store closings
    Charming Shoppes Inc., the Pennsylvania-based parent company of the Fashion Bug, Catherines, and Lane Bryant retail chains, plans to close more stores across the country after posting mounting losses for the third quarter and year-to-date periods.

    In a quarterly financial filing dated Nov. 25, company officials announced the closing of as many as 100 additional stores during fiscal year 2010. The company also posted a net loss in the third quarter of $92.9 million, or 81 cents per share. That was far worse then the same period a year ago when the company had net losses of $3.5 million, or 3 cents per share.
