I want – I got’s Versace x H&M Top Picks

So, H&M x Versace is approaching. I’m sure many people will be lining up on November 18, 2011 to get a piece of this collection. I will not be one of them but I did get a preview of the collection at the H&M Toronto headquarters.

“The collection for H&M is the essence of Versace. For the collaboration we’ve brought back from the archives, as well as from more recent collections, some of the icons of Versace, such as the bright prints, the Greek key and daring cuts. I can’t wait to see how H&M’s wide audience will make these pieces their own.” Donatella Versace.

“Versace’s collection for H&M is a moment in fashion. It is full of strong pieces that stand out, with colours, prints and cuts that are clean and precise. The women’s collection is flattering and full of dresses, while the men’s collection is very sophisticated. When I think about Versace I think of iconic items. With this collection for H&M we’ve got the essence of Versace.” Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M.

The collaboration was very well done. In my opinion, it was the best one yet but I like bodycon and loud prints. There was boning in some of the garments, I was shocked. That bustier? It has boning!

I liked the non leather pieces more than the leather stuff. I took photos of the pieces I liked from the Versace x H&M collection at the preview event. You can see them all in the slideshow. This is the stuff I’d be considering if I was crazy enough to line up for it.

H&M held a massive party for the launch of the Versace collection in New York City. You can see the fashion show in the video below.

If you’ve been following the H&M x Versace news then you would have read this revealing insight into the mind Donatella.  Clearly not understanding the whole idea of this collaboration at all.

The H&M x Versace collection will be available on November 19, 2011 at the following Canadian stores: The Toronto Eaton Centre, Bloor Street, Yorkdale Mall, Downtown Montreal and the Pacific Centre in Vancouver.
