Star Wars x Adidas is coming back with a new lineup for Fall Winter 2010 – 2011. This series includes shoes from characters like Han Solo, C-3PO and R2-D2, Boba Fett, and Jabba the Hutt. I’m freaking over the Boba Fett shoes, he’s my favourite Star Wars character ever.

The Jabba sneaks are really cool. They are a great colour, they are high tops and I love the textured leather. I have to admit I like them more than the Boba Fett ones.

Who doesn’t love some Han in carbonite? That was the theme of these The Empire Strikes Back inspired sneakers. Of course, these won’t come in my size.
The collection even features a Wookie jacket.
Look for these shoes at the Adidas Originals store on Queen Street and other sneaker shops.

A small group of online media joined Jeanne Beker at The Bay headquarters for a preview of EDIT by Jeanne Beker. Since everyone is doing the celebrity lines why not Jeanne. She at least has the years of fashion knowledge that makes it palatable to me. Jeanne never claims to be a designer. She’s partnered with the Corwick Group from Montreal who takes on the designer duties. It was a great experience to have Jeanne at our disposal and she talked about the industry and the changes that have happened with online. She made a crack about how everyone in the room probably weren’t of an age to remember a Pre-Fashion Television world. However, there were a couple of us that chimed in to correct her. Fashion Television is celebrating 25 years and the release of EDIT by Jeanne Beker is to to coincide with the anniversary.

This 25 piece capsule collection will be available in 65 Bay stores in September. It consists of Jeanne’s personal selection of silhouettes and colours she feels are must haves. These are wardrobe building pieces. Classic items that you can pair with anything. Separates are chosen in a way so that the collection can serve a work and casual purpose. Casual means denim and there are Jeanne Jeans and Jeanne Jeggings to fit the bill. That’s right jean leggings. A portion of sales from the jeans goes toward Dress for Success, a non-profit organization that provides tools for career development to low-income women,

The standout piece of this collection for me is the Camel Cape Jacket for $195. Prices range from $80 – $195 and sizes from 2 – 16. You can get a chance to meet Jeanne as she will be starting a national flagship store tour in October to promote the line.

The Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 collection from Danier is out. Some of my favourite pieces are their collaborations with John Hillifer, winner of Danier Design Challenge 2010 and the Raphael Mazzucco Mixed Media Montage collection. The selection of pieces I like are all very motorcycle inspired.

I’m loving the leather dress and Celine inspired black leather tshirt. John’s jacket is very different from what I normally see in Danier and that’s a good thing to see them embracing different design. Raphael Mazzucco Mixed Media Montage collection pieces have colourful linings that were created by Raphael.

This Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 collection from Marni has me wondering if Consuelo Castiglioni was a Canadian in previous life. These accessories look warm and are perfect for our crappy winters.

I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that summer is almost over and fall is starting up. I like fall but it leads to no good, namely winter. However my season package of tights from the Secret Fall 2010 collection arrived and I’m getting excited for fall. It means colourful tights and Secret has helped me in that regard for a few seasons now. Thanks Ashworth Associates for keeping my gams colourful all season long.
I really love this fall’s colours: Berry, Grey, Camel, Blue, Plum and Red. They come in tights and legging versions. I usually contrast my tights with a black outfit, but these colours make me want to go monochrome this fall. Tights and leggings are a great way for the colour-phobic to ease themselves into wearing colour. To be honest, I just like being obnoxiously colourful in the office, it needs it at times.
I am a huge fan of Wolford but you can’t beat Secret’s prices and general availability. Tights are $7.50 and leggings are $7.95. The leggings have a control top panty, so I’m assuming that’s why they are more expensive. They are long-lasting too.
