Perfecto Mag #style #fw2012 #Toronto

It was an absolute pleasure to participate in the Fall Winter 2012 Perfecto Mag Street Style video. I’ve been dying for it to come out and here it is. It’s amazing how it all came together. There was hair and makeup, styling, still shots and video clips. Most of the clothing from the video is my own. I’ve taken some screengrabs to break it down. 80% of the time I’m wearing some kind of Prada sunglasses. Here I’m sporting the Minimal Baroque. Ahh the pants, a random Versace x H&M find. They look great on camera. One of my favourite clutches bought from my favourite (now closed) stores, Chasse Gardee. I can’t remember where I bought the ring, probably Obsessions. The Hermès bracelet is paired with one from Lia Sophia (courtesy of Lia Sophia). Nails are gold by Essie. The shoes are my replacement Camilla Skovgaard’s. They look really great in the video. I was standing on a small brick wall in the Front and Church intersection at the time. It was funny shooting there …

TIFF 2010 – DPA Gifting Lounge

The InterContinental Toronto Centre on Front Street welcomed the Dubois, Pelin and Associates (DPA) Gifting Lounge during the Toronto International Film Festival. The Presidential Suite, which has this amazing wrap around terrace and fantastic views, was the location. Sponsors for the DPA Gifting Lounge included: MICALLA, FeenieBeadie, ANZIE, Ruby Wow!, Royal Blush, Glass Harp Gallery and Susan Hood designs, Michique, Roots, LouLou Bell, SwissTEC, Imperfect Indulgence, RevitaLash, Sula Beauty, Bathing Belle Swimwear, Snoflake, Barbara Bela, Sodaliscious, Turbine, Eva Varro, Pearl Resorts & Spa, Jumeirah Hotels and Resort Kusmi Teas, FUZE, The Berry Company, Galloping Cows, Ridiculous by Jilli, Manitobah Mukluks, Marchon Eyewear, AMC, Author Ann Kaplan and Lomography. There were a lot of great Canadian brands at the lounge, too many to talk about individually. It was great to see Canadian content getting pushed to the celebs. ANZIE jewellery initially invited me to the DPA Gifting Lounge so I could get a look at the collection. I was familiar with the brand as I’ve seen them at Holt Renfrew before. I didn’t know that they …

|FAT| 2009 Day 1

I attended [FAT], Toronto Alternative Arts and Fashion Week, at the Distillery District last week. It was four days of music, art and fashion. It was a long week, so very long. I thought of bailing on many days of FAT, but I never want to miss any of the fashion shows. It’s always an internal battle. There are a lot of designers to get through. So most of my reviews will be brief using word association. I’ll expand on a collection when necessary. Each day will get it’s own post. Day 1 |HOME| Designers and artists explore the place which is most familiar and known to us. The night looks at the meaning of home through culture and history, romance and beauty, power and subtlety, sexuality and domesticity. Fashion Whore – 50s, Vibrant prints, candy, nautical, baby doll dresses. Diepo – Boudoir, femme fatale, midriff, 40s, black, feminine Katrina Tuttle – houndstooth, party dresses, bubble hem, mix of textures with some unnecessary detail in places. The designer modeled in her own show, I liked …

Go Run Easy

Last week, I attended the Reebok Run Easy media and celeb breakfast. We all gathered at the Toronto Argonauts Rowing club for the presentation. Getting there was a total fiasco. Crossing Lake Shore Blvd in the morning is a nightmare and to top it off my cab driver dropped me off in the wrong spot. I thought it couldn’t get worst, then I find out we’re running this morning. Ugh, not what I want to do at all. Thankfully, Reebok is providing the running gear. I was given a bag of Reebok goodies (running jacket, pant and a t-shirt) when I signed in. I moved into another room to get my shoes fitted. I sat down beside Jackie Henessey (I thought it was Jill, my favourite D.A. from Law and Order and recently on Crossing Jordan) and said hi. I also cooed at her cute baby. I was wearing the Anita cuff and she asked me about it. I explained the story of how it was designed for me and let her know that she …
