i want: Iris Van Herpen x United Nude Spring Summer 2012 Haute Couture Shoes

Iris Van Herpen and United Nude teamed up to create the most intense footware for her Haute Couture Spring Summer 2012 show. If I was a collector of expensive, elaborate shoes these would be at the top of my wishlist. I can only look with my shoe budget. Models stepped out in “Fang” shoes with ten sharp teeth to each foot – the product of van Herpen’s fifth successful collaboration with United Nude. The shape of the wedge is so complex that each one consists of fiberglass and carbon fiber, made in a slow molding process If you are looking for more information or perhaps you`d like to order these shoes email to customerservice@unitednude.com images: unitednude.com

i want: Beau Coops x Karen Walker Fall Winter 2011 – 2012 Shoes

Daniela, owner of Chasse Gardee, is an accessories pusher. I was in the store one day and she showed me samples from the Beau Coops x Karen Walker Fall Winter 2011 – 2012 collection. They are now my newest obsession and I can’t wait till the shipment comes in so I can get myself a pair of the white leather brogues.  Shush now, I know I already own a pair of white derby shoes by Rokin.  Hmm, the Rokin’s were from Chasse Gardee too. Beau Coops is a London based footwear label designed by Carrie Cooper. Cooper’s designs are influenced by unisex dressing, menswear and androgyny. The label produces sculptural platform wedges, lace-up brogues and contrast toe ankle boots. I’ve always known Karen Walker for sunglasses. I’m going to own my first pair thanks to Moda Operandi sometime this fall. Karen is more than just sunglasses as she produces a ready to wear line and accessories. images: stylebistro.com

Hermes Spring Summer 2011 Shoes

This editorial for the Hermès Spring Summer 2011 collection is wonderful. I scanned the images from the Le monde d`Hermès magazine. Normally, the only Hermès shoe I obsess over is the riding boot.   However, the last few seasons have been pretty fun for shoes and these are very colourful ones. images: scanned by me

i got: White Derby Shoes by Rokin

I was looking for a great menswear inspired shoe like an oxford or brogue. Originally, I bought some lovely cork oxfords by Dieppa Restrepo at Chasse Gardee. Unfortunately, they didn’t fit very well and I had to return them. I was distraught as the shoes were made of cork and looked amazing. Shoes need to fit no matter how special the shoe is and how much it breaks your heart to return them. My alternative choice was the white derby by ROKIN Footwear also carried at Chasse Gardee. They aren’t the cork Dieppa Restrepo but they are pretty exciting in their own right and super comfortable. During my shoe search I finally discovered the difference between an oxford, brogue and derby. Oxford: a style of laced shoe characterized by shoelace eyelet tabs that are stitched underneath the vamp Brogue: a style of low-heeled shoe or boot traditionally characterized by multiple-piece, sturdy leather uppers with decorative perforations (or “brogueing”) and serration along the pieces’ visible edges. Derby: a style of shoe characterized by shoelace eyelet tabs …

Celine Fall Winter 2011 – 2012 Shoes and Handbags

The handbags in the Celine Fall Winter 2011 – 2012 collection are very slick and look ready to hold your fashionable tech gadgets. I like the minimal use of branding and logos on the bags. I normally hate these pointy 80s style stilettos but something about these Celine ones are making me rethink that hate. images: eastnews.ru

Alexander McQueen Fall Winter 2011 – 2012 Shoes

Sarah Burton was influenced by The Ice Queen and her court for the Alexander McQueen fall winter 2011 – 2012 collection. As always, I want – I got focuses on the crazy shoes. This season they continue with the platform base and takes some influence from fetish shoes with all the laces and stiletto heel.  I’m liking the boots and they come in some different treatments like leather, croc and pony. You see this shoe which will is the standout of the bunch with it’s own heel spike. I wonder if this shoe will actually be produced for retail.  It’s a bit cyberpunk for the Ice Queen. As always these shoes will be hot commodities.   You can try your luck  with the selection Holt Renfrew brings in or you can call your closest Alexander McQueen shop and get on the waiting list. UPDATE: I found some more great photos to share. images: eastnews.ru, vogue.com

Kenzo Spring Summer 2011 Shoes

These are crazy geta inspired shoes from Kenzo this season.   My first reaction was pretty but I would never wear them but that has changed with time.  I also have a lot of ridiculous platforms why am I judging these.  I could see myself wearing the top two pairs.  I love the prints. Geta (下駄) are a form of traditional Japanese footwear that resemble both clogs and flip-flops. They are a kind of sandal with an elevated wooden base held onto the foot with a fabric thong to keep the foot well above the ground. They are worn with traditional Japanese clothing such as kimono or yukata, but (in Japan) also with Western clothing during the summer months. Sometimes geta are worn in rain or snow to keep the feet dry, due to their extra height and impermeability compared to other shoes footwear such as zōri. (source: wikipedia.com) I found a great link that talks about the different types of geta found in Japan. Traditional Japanese Footwear at wafuku.co.uk has lots of photos and descriptions. …

OPI x PUMA Canada x Browns Shoes

I like hearing about Canada-only collaborations. This time OPI, PUMA Canada and Browns Shoes have teamed up to bring exclusive products to the Canadian market. April marks the spring/summer 2011 launch of exclusive PUMA ballerina flats for Browns Shoes and B2. To celebrate this, PUMA Canada teamed up with OPI to create a special gift with purchase at select Browns Shoes and B2 locations. Limited to only 50 bottles per participating store, PUMA Red by OPI is sure to go fast! (while quantities last, some restrictions apply.) So Brown Shoes and PUMA Canada have teamed up to create a set of exclusive ballerina flats not sold in any other store. In turn PUMA Canada called on nail giant OPI to come up with the PUMA Red nail polish. I’m not into ballet flats so the shoes do nothing for me. I’m intrigued by this retail move. Technically over collaborations but I cant help but get excited by ones that involve the Canada market like this. images: courtesy of PUMA Canada
