The Erdem Fall 2010 collection was another one that needed video in order to get the full impact of it’s beauty. The photos look flat and don’t provide the same visual experience the video offers.

The man is a master of the print.

Louise Goldin’s fall 2010 collection brought me back into the fold. I wasn’t all that interested in what she did for Spring. However fall was dark, hard and futuristic. Pictures don’t tell the whole story so I’ve provided you with the video. images: style.com
It was the prints that attracted me to Maria Grachvogel Fall 2010 collection. They remind me of the sea, sky and mountains.
Maria started her line in 1994 and has been showing at London Fashion week since. She shuns traditional techniques and doesn’t use fit models but real people. Sizes run from 2 – 20 and she designs so that the garments flatter all sizes.
Maria Grachvogel hand paints each design which is then digitally printed on the fabric. images: nymag.com
For those of you keeping tabs on your models, NY Mag has listed the openers and closers for all shows during London Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week. Click the links to see if your favourites made the cut. image: nymag.com The power of video once again proves itself to me. I would have totally overlooked Mark Fast Ready to Wear 2009 – 2010 without seeing this video. The pictures of the collection on Style.com don’t do it justice. I’m always excited to hear about Canadians making it abroad. Sarah Nicole Prickett wrote a great article about Mark for the National Post. SHOWstudio Louise Goldin UNRAVELLED video combines elements of backstage and the Fall 2009 – 2010 fashion show. The collection is beautiful. The panels look so much nicer in video, they tend to look a little plastic and hard in pictures. House of Holland Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010
The simple concept worked for me; Pantone madness. As I’ve said to others “It’s a colour blocking monstrosity, but I like it”. The House of Holland Fall 2009 – 2010 video was cute. The models were smiling and having a good time. He actually did some menswear, that was left out of the WWD page, but are in the video. images: wwd.com |
