Sales madness

The holiday season really brings the sales out. I’ve been listing as many christmas, warehouse and sample sales I can find. You can see all the new sales posts by viewing the Sales Category. I try to keep my Google Calender updated with information also. I invite my readers to comment on any of the sales they have attended. I don’t get out to all of these and I’m sure others would like to hear of your experiences.

I’ll definitely do my best to answer it. I want – I got commentor Liana wrote in the post Revlon Warehouse Sale: Hi everyone… Does anyone know where I can get nice plus-sized clothing for myself here in Toronto? I’ve tried the usual haunts (Cotton Ginny, Pennigton’s, etc) but affordable too. I know in the U.S of A, they have lot’s of stuff cheap, but I don’t have a car and no one to take me there. This isn’t a topic I’m very knowledgeable in but I have looked up some of the plus sized boutiques in Toronto. I can’t guarantee it will be cheap like the states but the price probably would work out to be the same if you factor in gas, accommodation, car rental, etc. Toronto Life has a small article called Living Large which features shops in the …

i got, Boxing Day edition

Boxing Day sucked, IMO. I did manage to get some strategic items like Curry Cashews from Holt’s. For the most part everything was the same price. I looking high and low for tall flat black boots and was denied everywhere. If I did find something, it was too big, ill fitting, or just plain crap. I’m going to try the Zola’s warehouse sale for some boots. I did find some things on the 27th at Girl Friday where everything was 50% off. I got 2 nice waist belts from Toronto company Brave Leather. I only have a picture of one, and it’s white and not silver. The other is black with embroidered elastic connecting the leather ends. I also picked up a cute houndstooth tshirt from Engine9

Records are being set

I thought I want – I got had a great boxing day; about 800 people visited the site that day looking for shopping bargains. I knew that the Lululemon warehouse sale would bring people here, but I had no idea how many. Thursday saw about 1100 visitors. My searches were all for lululemon, it has been insane over the last few days. I’ve finally broken the 1000 visitor mark, YAY!. Thanks to all the people who posted comments about their Lululemon experience.

Welcome to another installment of ask a geek. RDLoscher wrote: Where can I find Womens Full length Leather Coats in Toronto! If you can direct me to a wholesaler or a retailer I would appreciate it! Thank You RDLOscher Thanks for your question RDLoscher. The Olde Hide House Bart Leather LA PELLE KARPETA The Leather Ranch Phil Leather I’d start with this list. Give the stores a call and see if they carry any jackets in the length your are looking for. If none of these option work, you might want to try something custom made. I don’t know of any wholesalers, sorry 🙁 Be sure to check out the Beardmore leathers Warehouse sale this weekend.

I want – I got’s Bisha Adventure in New York City

Oh my god, I better not miss this flight. I’m standing in line for security checks; it’s 7:30am. It’s Monday morning and I’m hoping to catch my 8am flight to New York. I’m impatient and freaking out. I clear security without much time to spare and I’m running to gate 151, hoping that boarding hasn’t closed yet. I didn’t even close the clasp on my bright pink sandals. Amazingly they don’t fly off my feet. I slow down a bit when I see a lineup of people at the gate. Thank god, still time. I laugh to myself. This is the start of an amazing day. I love my life. I’m going to New York City for the day. I leave Toronto at 8am and I the return flight is at 7:30pm. This trip is the product of a fucked up week, to put it mildly. The day after the earthquake I receive an email from Foujan at Matchstick. There may be the potential for a blogger to be sent out to NYC to join …

NYC Fashion Week Spring 2008 – Thakoon

Before and after the Zero show I had time to kill. So I browsed the shops of the Meatpacking district. Scoop, Puma Black Store, Stella McCartney, Jeferry, Ed Hardy, La Perla and Alexander McQueen. I was salivating in the McQueen store, some of the gowns for sale were just beautiful. Thakoon was next show. It was in a large warehouse space, two rows of benches lined the runway which snaked it way around the room. I saw Anna Wintour. It was a brief glimpse of the woman and the only time I saw her all weekend. There were some other celebs in the audience, but I didn’t know who they were. A lot of the top models walked the show, Stam, Irina (both K and L), Hye Park. It’s amazing how thin these women are, it’s astonishing. Top models do screw up time to time and a couple models forgot the layout of the runway and bypassed a whole section of buyers and other guests. The clothes were absolutely stunning. I loved everything and the …
