So I decided to get a bra fitting on the weekend. Since I was in the Annex I ended up at Secrets from your sister. It was quite busy so there was a wait. It was well worth it. The staff are awesome. Friendly and helpful, their motto is “you won’t leave here with a bra that doesn’t fit”. I had lots of fun trying on many different bras. I also made some new friends

Princesse Tam-Tam from France
Charnos from the UK
Liz from Brazil

Calvin Klein used to be my favourite. No more, Princesse Tam-Tam has won my heart.

    Sorry, but I seriously disagree.

I had a terrible experience with trying to return a bra there — when the manager bluntly accused me of lying (hmm… despite the $350+ I had spent on lingerie the day prior) I promptly left the store for the very last time.

Though some staff members are gems, the manager is certainly not. And the customer service was beyond appalling. There are so many wonderful lingerie stores in this city, ones that are certainly not full of accusatory bitches.

Yes Sally, you are so right! I had a horrible experience there for the exact reasons. I was exchanging a bra, hoping to get better service at the Bloor st. store. The manager was abrupt, rude, cold and I felt like I was being attacked. I finally asked her if I had said something to offend her. I finally just had to leave because she was making me so uncomfortable it was impossible to even talk to her! Appalling is an understatement. About 1 year or so previously, I also had to exchange another bra as after I wore it, there were deep indentations in my skin as they sold me a bra way too small. This time it was with the owner. WOW! hard to believe anyone returns there with that kind of treatment. I felt like a criminal and was made to feel like I was lying as well. Beestung is a great lingerie place on Yonge st with relaxed, knowledgeable staff. Life can be hard enough. I don’t need to shop with ”bitchy” bra fitters.

i completely agree with you two. a few years ago i began looking for a bra that fit. i tried sophia’s on danforth and did not like the abrupt treatment i received, not the mention the “hands-on” without any foreplay. a friend recommended secrets from your sister and i went there. I had an incredibly nice woman help me and went home with a bra, which also was too small and when i took it back, was also made to feel like i had done something wrong by the manager. I went back and bought three more bras from there, even exchanging one someone had bought for me in the states. How amazing was that? so i conveniently forgot about the mean manager and went back with a friend (who had a $200 gift card!) the other day. my bra had broken, was the only one i had that currently fit me and i was in desperate need of a new one. i had saved (their bras are not cheap!) and was ready to make a purchase. we showed up and were told it would be 40 minutes before we could get a fitting. since i had been there many times and was fairly certain of my size and knew what to look for in a bra, i said i wouldn’t mind just trying on a few bras and i would literally take anything that fit. i was told they were short staffed and i had to wait. they “strongly recommend getting a fitting.” well, i didn’t want one and was told again in no uncertain terms that they “strongly recommend getting a fitting.” not once did the woman smile, act at all friendly or even seem interested in the $400 sale she would have gotten from the two of us. i was completely offended and not interested in being forced to undergo a fitting to try on bras when i could have told her which bras fit and which did not. you might wonder if i am exaggerating a little, however, i am not. we left, with me vowing never to set foot in that store again, nor recommend it to anyone. and made our way to NEARLY NAKED, my new all-time FAVOURITE bra store in the world. there i was made to feel comfortable despite the fact that she was closing in less than 20 minutes, i was not made to feel rushed at all and after telling her what size i was, ended up finding a bra that i love for less than ONE THIRD the price of a bra at secrets from your sister. i get to save money and get great service?!? i’m getting NEARLY NAKED!

I agree with all of the above! I too walked in, knowing my bra size with a specific bra in mind that I wanted to try. I was let into a fitting room, but when I asked if they had balconettes in my size I was rudely told “I can’t help you. If you need help you need to sign up for a fitting and wait in line”. I was then told AGAIN when I was leaving that if I needed help in the future I HAD to get a fitting in order to receive it! I don’t NEED a fitting, I am well aware of my size! I will not be shopping here again and will advise anyone who asks never to step foot in this store. They simply don’t know how to handle foot traffic! I’ve worked in retail in malls for years, including 2 years as management in a La Senza and our store was at least 5 times the size of this one and we ran it well, wit the same amount of staff! I don’t know how 5 employees cannot handle roughly 8 customers, and the manager was screaming to the associate on the phone how busy they were that they couldn’t help them! I was so appalled that I wrote an email to the address on their website and this is the reply I got:

” I am sorry you have had a poor experience at our store. Everyone does have an off day as we are all human.

In your situation the problem comes up when other women have been on the waiting list for some time and you go in front of them and take up the fitter’s time. I understand you know your size but someone still has to get the bra for you. While a fitter is with one customer, she has much to concentrate on and this can throw off another customer’s experience.

While I was not there to see what the situation was, the list is for anyone who would like to try on bras for the simple reason that someone has to get the bras for them, then often adjust the straps and get a new size. We are a bra fitting shop not a lingerie store and therefore cannot be self serve.

I understand if you do not want to shop at our store anymore. However, you are able to make appointments for Saturdays so you can be helped at the time you require. The service is excellent at both stores and we work best when the store runs the way it is set up to. Today, I hear was a crazy day and you just happened to not have the time and either did ****. It would have been better for her to use a better tone as I am sure you would have found more understanding if treated with more respect.

Thank you for your feedback, it is very much appreciated.

    Jennifer”

I’ve never read anything more condescending. And here I thought they WERE a lingerie shop, but apparently not! I was sure to write a full review on Chick Advisor, so that no other women will have to go through what I did!
