Damn people, where did you come from?

So, I took a much needed sanity break from blogging over the holidays. I still haven’t caught up with email and won’t do that until tomorrow. I did post about a lot of sales for boxing day. I checked my stats today and the traffic was ridiculous from Dec 24 – 26. An average of 3,642 unique visitors each day hit this site. Insane! I’m amazed it didn’t go down, thank you Dreamhost, you rock. Thanks to Redflagdeals for the link love. It was a major contributor.

i got, Boxing Day edition

Boxing Day sucked, IMO. I did manage to get some strategic items like Curry Cashews from Holt’s. For the most part everything was the same price. I looking high and low for tall flat black boots and was denied everywhere. If I did find something, it was too big, ill fitting, or just plain crap. I’m going to try the Zola’s warehouse sale for some boots. I did find some things on the 27th at Girl Friday where everything was 50% off. I got 2 nice waist belts from Toronto company Brave Leather. I only have a picture of one, and it’s white and not silver. The other is black with embroidered elastic connecting the leather ends. I also picked up a cute houndstooth tshirt from Engine9

I want – I got is listed

I want – I got has been on a few lists. Brian at CustomizedGirl emailed me to let me know that they featured I want – I got. Thanks for selecting me. CustomizedGirl Blog Top 100 Fashion Blogs I also discovered that I want – I got is one of the top 200 design sites as ranked by Alexa. The list includes fashion design, architectural design, interior design, graphic design and more. I was ranked 150 at the time this blogger published the list.

Project Runway Canada – Finale

I’m kinda disappointed that I didn’t call the winner of PRC way, way ahead of time. There were so many hints. Now that the media embargo is finished I can talk about the runway show. My choices for the top 3 were wrong by 1. I thought Stephen Wong was one of the top 3. Let me tell you the applause track they added to the finalist’s runway shows was laughable, completely laughable. I don’t know why it was necessary and it cheapened the whole thing. I was surprised that they used the Biddell/Lucian war to the bitter end. In hindsight I should have realized that they would milk it for all it’s worth. I laughed my ass of when Rita started crying over Lucian’s collection. It was beautiful, not really my style, but beautiful none the less, and it’s only clothing in the end. To me PRC totally followed the American model down to their “Rock and roll and edgy” young designer. He reminds me of Jay. Hopefully Biddell will have an easier time …

A Pod Bed for my cats The Pod offers the security of a mountaintop cave with way more style. It serves as your pet’s own personal sanctuary – a perfect place for curling up to snooze, hide, or reign supreme. This is a great little hiding/sleeping spot for the kitties.

Ahh that explains a lot

I’ve always been a little confused with sizing, depending on the country of origin (not the places where these items are actually made) they are different. A size 7.5 in the US standard doesn’t translate to 38 oversees like I assumed. I saw this chart on the site luisaviaroma.com and thought I’d post it for your information.

Am I the only one not really into StyleShake

StyleShake is this new Internet business where users can create their own dress (using StyleShake templates) to create a custom dresses. The company takes your request and creates the dress you designed. It’s getting press everywhere. I don’t like most of the options available so I’m not very excited. It can’t just be me, there is something way wrong with this bubble hem. The options are expanding so maybe in the future they will have something I don’t find horrible. Check it out and let me know what you think?

Dancing at the Adelaide Club

So, I just joined a new gym. It was a rather traumatizing experience. My old gym, The Wellington, was my hangout for about 5 years. I knew the staff and many of the squash players there. Extreme Fitness took over after The Sports Clubs of Canada went tits up. At first, I figured they would keep the squash program considering how many people were at the gym for squash. I was wrong, they are dumping the squash program to add internet lounges and stupid yoga studios. I was really pissed off, so I left for the Adelaide Club. The Adelaide Club is the type of club the Wellington only dreams of being (Yes, I’m really bitter). It’s much cleaner with better facilities and they have squash courts that won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. The owner is a big squash fan and player. The club actually had about 12 courts back in the day. To the Wellington’s credit, they did have the some great squash courts. So good that I ignored the rest of the …

A Stupid Bag A latecomer to the to the Anya Hindmarch “I’m Not A Plastic Bag” parodies, I still like these bags. My favourite is “I’m just a f#*king bag”, which is sold out, of course. Others include “I’m a cheap shit bag”, “I’m a very cheap bag” and “I’m just a stupid bag”. My favourite Anya Hindmarch parody still is the I’m not a smug twat bag.

Pitch correctly and you’ll have more luck

I just got a canned email pitch from a salesman who deals in packaging. Every once in awhile a TFI member decides to email everyone. He’s promising to take I want – I got to the next level. I don’t think this guy realized that I want – I got is a website. I emailed him to let him know that I can’t see how his packaging company is going to help considering it’s not a physical product. Here is a piece of advice for you business folk. If you bother to do a little research before sending out spam emails then you could focus your time on the right potential clients. While I’m posting about things that annoy me. 1. I won’t tell you the trends for 2008/2009. Join TFI and find out yourself. 2. I don’t work for any of the companies that are listed on this site. Don’t ask me to track down some obscure product, I cannot.

OMG Pre-Fall 2008 already

The Pre-Fall 2008 Fashion Shows are beginning to show up on Style.com. Right now there are 3 designers Oscar De La Renta, Zac Polson and Dolce & Gabbana. Oscar’s show was 63 freakin’ pieces. 63 for pre-fall, WTF. Oscar’s collection was really nice. This is two seasons in a row that I’m loving what he’s doing. He’s incorporating the Spring 2008 print trend into some nice dresses and skirts.
