What was I thinking

I’m really new to the services a shoe repairman offers as I’ve never really used them. I didn’t realize their power until I decided to sell these beautiful Nine West platforms I own. Aren’t they awesome? You could imagine how heart wrenching the decision to sell them was. They were just too damn tight in the toe area. I have a high tolerance for pain and I couldn’t fight through wearing them. Brand freaking new, I had worn them twice. TWICE!!! I was so disappointed. Thank god for MJ. He asked me why I was selling those beautiful heels. This statement was like salt on the wounds. When MJ likes something, I know without a doubt that it’s hot. Hot as term has forever been tainted because of that damn Paris Hilton. It’s such an accurate description. Damn Paris Hilton and those shoes, they were slipping through my fingers. I was getting angry again when MJ says, “Are they too short or is it just tight in the toe area? You can get them stretched …

A pearl and silk necklace by Knotty Girls I first saw this necklace at the Style Revolution Sale. It was held at the Design Exchange. The quality of the vendors at the show was amazing. It’s a shame that the turnout wasn’t great. The financial district on a weekend is devoid of people. If they had held it during the week, they would have made a killing. I work in the financial district. Women like to shop on their lunch hours. Look at the Winners in Scotia Plaza between 12pm – 2pm. Madness. This necklace comes in red/black, black/grey, purple and black/navy. Danielle Kerr loves ribbons and they are the focus her designs. She only uses luxury ribbon from places like Mokuba and silks from B.C. Semi-precious stones, base metals, glass beads, yarn or silver can be accents to the ribbon. You can purchase Knotty Girls at: Made You Look SnazzyGirl Nathalie-Roze and Co Knotty Girls will be at the following shows: November 26, 2006: The Artisan’s Gift Fair, The Tranzac in the Annex December …

Bid on your own SpoonFed Art creation

I received this word of this auction from SpoonFed Art publicist Kira Bloom. The National Eating Disorders Association’s “Every BODY Is Beautiful” Online Fundraising Auction, which is currently running through December 6th. There are a number of amazing fashion-related items up for sale, including jewelry, handbags, several offerings from Marc Jacobs, and a pair of Kasil jeans customized and autographed by The Sopranos’ Jamie-Lynn Sigler. Jewelry designer Karin Collins donated three of her one-of-a-kind SpoonFed Art spoon pendants to the NEDA fundraising project – and they’re all currently ranked in the auction’s “Top 10 Items”! NEDA commissioned Karin to design one very special SpoonFed Art pendant featuring their own logo – and it’s currently listed as the Number One most popular item of the entire auction! Please let your readers know that they can go to this link for more information on this great event: www.cmarket.com/catalog/landingPage.do?vhost=nationaleatingdisord

i want: Shoes from Fluevog

Fluevog has some great shoes this season. I was in the store with Carolyn. This was on Sunday after the TFBB at The Drake. We both fell in love with the Sienna’s and had to try them all. I’ve been looking for a great bootie this year and the Sienna is it. The heels look pretty daunting on these shoes and I thought they would be just another great looking pair of torture chambers. I was wrong, they are the perfect heel height, the platform in the front is perfect. I love a heel between 2 and 3 inches after that it gets a bit sketchy. At L’Oreal Fashion week the L’Oreal makeup show used white versions of the Sienna that were so freakin’ amazing. Unfortunately, they were specially made and will not be available to the public. I tried on the booties below from Aldo a few weeks ago and really liked them. They are made in China and I decided that I have been burned enough. The ban must be upheld.

Sales madness

The holiday season really brings the sales out. I’ve been listing as many christmas, warehouse and sample sales I can find. You can see all the new sales posts by viewing the Sales Category. I try to keep my Google Calender updated with information also. I invite my readers to comment on any of the sales they have attended. I don’t get out to all of these and I’m sure others would like to hear of your experiences.

Viktor & Rolf at H&M – girl on girl violence

I did not attend. I really though about it for a moment. I’m just not ready to beat people for H&M clothes. Real Viktor & Rolf clothes at H&M prices would warrant me getting into the girl stomping mood. I’d make sure to wear my best stomping boots. I was in H&M on Friday and a sale associate told me the collection sold out in 15 mins. He also mentioned that it was ugly. I did see few pairs of the tuxedo pants left. They didn’t seem any different in quality to any other H&M product. I thought the collection was pretty nice overall and there was a few pieces I liked. The only thing I wasn’t jazzed about the hearts. I don’t think I’ll ever try to buy anything from an H&M collection, even if it was Alexander McQueen. It’s just too much trouble and I don’t care enough. image: H&M

geekiviews: The Slanket

Gary Clegg sent me a message and asked me to review his product, The Slanket. I was surprised at first. Why would someone want my opinion. So I decided to give Gary what he asked for, my opinion on the Slanket. He had the decency to ask and he was the first to do so. First off, what the hell is a Slanket? Basically, it’s a blanket with sleeves. It’s not a cuddle wrap. There are no buttons and zippers. It’s dubbed “The best blanket ever”. I have to agree. I fell in love with the Slanket at first sight, it hadn’t even arrived at my house yet. I have a cuddle wrap. It’s broken because the snaps have come off. No snaps, no arms. The Slanket didn’t have the limitation and the arm holes are much more advanced than the crude cuddle wrap. Gary had me sold. All he needed to do was delivery on the quality side of the equation. The blanket is made from 300gsm (grams per square meter) polar fleece. It’s …

Fall Winter 2006 shoes from Maloles I featured Maloles shoes before and I just discovered their fall line up. I love the asymmetrical opening on these boots. I bet they sit nicely against the leg and look great with skirts. I’ve seen a lot of these box toe ballerina flats, I love them. These ones look like they have a little face.

I’m out of the patent club

I recently blogged about buying these great patent shoes. For those who haven’t read the comments, the damn things broke on me after I wore them for the first time. I took them back to Town Shoes and I thought I would get an immediate refund/exchange. This was clearly a manufacturer’s defect and I have a right to a new pair of shoes. Well, I was told that they would have to go to repair first and then they would see if they could fix them. These shoes couldn’t be repaired, I could tell. I was told it was policy and didn’t’ really push the issue. They would go to repair and I wouldn’t have to pay. I was told it would take a week and they would call. Thursday was a week and I had no call. So I decided to give them a call and find out what the hell was going on. They found the shoes in the store and they were still broken. I was prepared to give them hell about …

i want: Urban Soft Flowers by Hunter by Bonder boots

Urban Soft Flowers by Hunter by Bonder boots That fact that I love these modified Hunter Wellingtons is proof that I am totally insane. It makes no sense why I like these. None at all. I like these obnoxious things. Check out the details. The covering reminds me of cheese cloth? Well, you’ll never see me sporting these. They cost a wopping $808. They don’t have much function as a rain boot either. Maybe they are for fashionable gardeners.
