Damn this is huge!

Breaking news from WWD.com Fashion news, retail news, beauty news and more from Women’s Wear Daily PARIS — LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton today won a landmark victory against eBay for allowing the sale of counterfeit goods. A French court ordered eBay to pay the luxury goods giant around 40 million euros, or $63.2 million at current exchange, for selling counterfeit items on its online auction site, and for selling genuine products outside their desired retail channel. Announcing the decision after a two-year legal process, Paris’s Tribunal de Commerce cited “grave errors” on eBay’s part. Louis Vuitton received the lion’s share and was awarded 19.3 million euros, or $30.5 million; Christian Dior Couture received 17.4 million euros, or $27.5 million, and Parfums Christian Dior, Parfums Kenzo, Guerlain and Parfums Givenchy, were awarded around 3 million euros, or $4.7 million. EBay was ordered to stop selling fragrances and cosmetics from those brands immediately, or face a fine of 50,000 euros, or $79,000, a day.

i got: Earnest Sewn Harlan denim in Greaser Black wash.

Earnest Sewn Harlan denim in Greaser Black wash. I’ve been looking for another pair of skinny jeans. The pair I bought from Lucky Brand is starting to fall apart. I was in Winners and found these perfect fitting Earnest Sewns for $16.00. That’s right, SIXTEEN DOLLARS. This is almost a good as the deal I got on a Chloe dress. Sometimes Winners is amazing.

This is why I hate Payless

Having a shoe break on you is a bitch. Having a shoe break on you after 5 wears turns me into a bitch. That is what happened to me at the most inconvenient time a few weekends ago. I was running late to meet friends for dinner; we had a reservation. I grabbed these yellow wedges I bought from Payless last year (they were perfect with what I was wearing). I’ve worn these shoes about 5 times in total and they were in like new condition (so I thought). I don’t have much luck at Payless (even though my friends do) but I found this pair and another white strappy sandal that I liked last summer. Just as I reach the subway the shoe’s strap breaks. I look down and I’m dumbfounded, how the hell did the strap break like this. Usually, good shoe manufacturers uses the shoe’s upper material and attaches it to the the metal ring needed to make the strap. Payless decided that elastic material was sufficient instead. This resulted in a …

Karolina Kurkova is “fat” according to the Brazillians, what chance do you have?

Fat police target Victoria’s Secret model So Karolina Kurkova has been blasted for being “too fat” by the Brazilian media after appearance on the runway. The photo above is from that show. I’m going on the record here: Karolina isn’t fat! However she’s not in top model shape at the moment and I’m actually surprised that she walked, considering the Brazillians have blasted other models for the same reasons before. Before you go crazy and start calling me names please remember SHE IS A PROFESSIONAL MODEL! With that carries some expectations and she didn’t live up to those expectations. It’s like she walked into it, Brazil is the probably the most body conscious place in the world. Anyways, I hope she doesn’t take it too hard. The business is full of rejection and negativity so I’m hoping she has a thick skin.

Alexander McQueen Ready to Wear – Mens Spring Summer 2009

Alexander McQueen Ready to Wear – Mens Spring Summer 2009 If I was to ever dress alike with a man, I would want us to be wearing this. This is the genius of McQueen. Without seeing the images, would I never consider a black and white ombre dress and suit combination, but here I am, salivating. The dress is 10 times better than the suit. The dress is fantastic. click for larger images! images: thefashionspot.com EDIT: See the dress in high res

Neil Barrett Ready to Wear – Mens Spring Summer 2009

the Fashion Spot – Neil Barrett Mens S/S 09 Milan I really love this look from Neil Barrett’s collection. Two things to note. 1. Stirrup pants on Men are wrong, wrong, wrong. And in leather infinitely wrong. 2. The new pant silhouette for women is the cigar shape (3rd Thumbnail, click for a bigger look). It certainly doesn’t work for everyone. If you see a hint of hip, forget it. Neil Barrett does some nice ones though. images: thefashionspot.com

Jeremy Laing in W

Jeremy Laing is in the July 2008 issue of W mag. Here is a teaser scan, but go out and get a copy. I got mine. He is part of the Summer Camp editorial shot by Bruce Weber. The link has a slideshow of some of the images. There is a lot of naked Lara Stone, Daria and Kate Moss all over the place, be warned. School’s out, and the livin’ is easy. The latest flock of new designers hits the road with some top models and friends for a little fun—dressed or not—under the Miami sun.

Ask a Geek: Where to find Marc by Marc Jacobs in Toronto

Sometimes readers ask me questions. If they are of value to all my readers I post them online. If you have a question, please feel free to submit it using the contact form. I’ll definitely do my best to answer it. I want – I got reader Annie wrote: Hi Anita, I’m desperately looking for the Marc by Marc Jacobs Grovee Dr. Q purse in the brown colour. My friend’s birthday is this weekend and she’s been yearning for it. Do you know of any other store in Toronto aside from Holt who sells Marc by Marc? Thank you! I hope you don’t mind me sharing your question Annie! Holt Renfrew sells Marc by Marc handbags along with the Marc Jacobs line and Bloor Street is your best bet for selection. Holt Renfrew also carries Marc by Marc Jacobs womenswear, footwear, watches and jewellery. I did some searching on the net and found out that David’s Footwear also sells Marc by Marc handbags and shoes. I believe those are the 2 major players in Toronto. …

geekiviews: Sex in the City movie

Yes, even though I really don’t care, I saw Sex in the City. I knew that MJ would want me to see it with him. We went on Saturday, the theater was empty and the butter was real. The movie was way too long, painfully long. The storyline was predictably awful, but there were a few really good laughs. That theme song, hideous. That pretty much sums up the average Sex in the City fan to me, people who think Fergie is cool. The moving going crowd was fantastic, there wasn’t a short skirt or a stiletto in the place. The fashion was the only reason I cared and it was pretty intense. MJ and I played “what’s she wearing” the whole time. The product placement was totally ridiculous and I wonder how much money changed hands. Most of the outfits were just awful. The fashion show scene was completely laughable. I always hate fashion show scenes in movies (except Zoolander). People really identify with this movie. Is it true women go to New York …

Stella Artois Légère Launch

I got this really cool invite to the Stella Artois Légère launch. It was at Circa and there was lots of Stella on hand to try out. I’m not a big light beer fan but this was okay. It was very light tasting and like most light beers it reminded me of water. Before Wclef Jean “played” for the crowd, there was an acrobat. I think Wclef’s DJ did most of the work because they really didn’t perform anything. Wclef was more of an M.C. that night.

Toronto’s Mille Femmes

Mille Femmes is now over. However, here is a picture of my photo. I was pretty pleased with it and many people complemented me on it. Thanks Maraval for the photo. Check out some pictures from the Mille Femmes party and the exhibit below.
