I don’t do much on I want – I got that deals with video games. People send me links to their iPod/iPhone apps but nothing from any of the game companies. Star Wars x Adidas Fall Winter 2010 -2011

Star Wars x Adidas is coming back with a new lineup for Fall Winter 2010 – 2011. This series includes shoes from characters like Han Solo, C-3PO and R2-D2, Boba Fett, and Jabba the Hutt. I’m freaking over the Boba Fett shoes, he’s my favourite Star Wars character ever. The Jabba sneaks are really cool. They are a great colour, they are high tops and I love the textured leather.  I have to admit I like them more than the Boba Fett ones. Who doesn’t love some Han in carbonite? That was the theme of these The Empire Strikes Back inspired sneakers. Of course, these won’t come in my size. :(  The collection even features a Wookie jacket. EDIT by Jeanne Beker Fall Winter 2010 – 2011

A small group of online media joined Jeanne Beker at The Bay headquarters for a preview of EDIT by Jeanne Beker. Since everyone is doing the celebrity lines why not Jeanne. She at least has the years of fashion knowledge that makes it palatable to me. Jeanne never claims to be a designer. She’s partnered with the Corwick Group from Montreal who takes on the designer duties. It was a great experience to have Jeanne at our disposal and she talked about the industry and the changes that have happened with online. She made a crack about how everyone in the room probably weren’t of an age to remember a Pre-Fashion Television world. However, there were a couple of us that chimed in to correct her. Fashion Television is celebrating 25 years and the release of EDIT by Jeanne Beker is to  to coincide with the anniversary. Raquel Zimmerman Dances to Lady Gaga in Gareth Pugh

I’m amazed at how much I enjoy watching Raquel Zimmerman dance around in Gareth Pugh. On 20, 23 and 24 November 2009, world-renowned fashion designer Gareth Pugh took up residence in the LiveStudio to handcraft a one-off garment for SHOWstudio SHOP. The entire process of creation was recorded and broadcast live to a global audience, while Pugh’s final dress was modelled by Raquel Zimmermann in a unique and truly unprecedented one-off performance.

Hermes Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 Ad Campaign

The Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 ad campaign for Hermès is a lot darker than Spring Summer 2010 which was fairytale like.  The Avengers theme from the runway show goes hand in hand with these photos.  It’s like the lovely spy who is decked head to toe in Hermès makes her getaway with her SO Black Kelly.  She just can’t leave her wardrobe so she gets  her kindly old mentor to have them moved to her safe house by carriage.  Of course, this generous act will result in his death.  Yada, yada, yada.  I should write screenplays.  Ha This is the SO Black Kelly that baghounds have been salivating over. Danier Fall Winter 2010

The Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 collection from Danier is out. Some of my favourite pieces are their collaborations with John Hillifer, winner of Danier Design Challenge 2010 and the Raphael Mazzucco Mixed Media Montage collection.  The selection of pieces I like are all very motorcycle inspired. I’m loving the leather dress and Celine inspired black leather tshirt. Secret Fall 2010

I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that summer is almost over and fall is starting up. I like fall but it leads to no good, namely winter. However my season package of tights from the Secret Fall 2010 collection arrived and I’m getting excited for fall. It means colourful tights and Secret has helped me in that regard for a few seasons now. Thanks Ashworth Associates for keeping my gams colourful all season long. I really love this fall’s colours: Berry, Grey, Camel, Blue, Plum and Red. They come in tights and legging versions. I usually contrast my tights with a black outfit, but these colours make me want to go monochrome this fall. Tights and leggings are a great way for the colour-phobic to ease themselves into wearing colour.  To be honest, I just like being obnoxiously colourful in the office, it needs it at times. I am a huge fan of Wolford but you can’t beat Secret’s prices and general availability. Tights are $7.50 and leggings are $7.95. The leggings have …

I liked the Proenza Schouler Fall Winter 2010 collection. I didn’t care much for the shoes and I don’t care much for the ad campaign. The girls are too thin and it’s distracting. I was just sent the new behind the scenes video from Roots for their Fall 2010 collection. It was filmed in beautiful Trinity Bight, Newfoundland. You can check out the full lookbook on Roots.ca. I’m pretty partial to the outfit below. The sweater is catching my eye. I’ve been a big fan of the Russian Vamp Boots and I really like that they have made them higher. i want: Acne Studios Fall 2010 – 2011 Dresses

I’m loving these dresses from Acne for fall 2010.  Ara, the short, sexy leather number would be a great edition to my closet that is lacking shorter hems.  It sounds divine after reading the description. Strapless, short and futuristic leather A-line bustier dress with a zipped detailed skirt. Inner top body is built up like a corset with bonings. Inner grosgrain ribbon with hook and eye closure holds the waist. Skirt part has two front zippers with inserts, which allows for skirt width adjustments. Hemline finishes just below the hips. Fit is short and narrow The drapey Pluto and Omega are my typical hemline and great for the office. I love the silk styles Alpha and Atlantis are just great LBDs.  I’ve recently discovered that the key to wearing silk dresses is about wearing some shapewear or a great slip underneath.    Atlas is another fun short dress that uses a stretch crepe fabric for the top, the bust and skirt are in a fused stiff fabric. Tommy Ton returned to the Toronto fashion scene for an exhibition of his work. Holt Renfrew is displaying Tommy Ton’s photos on the mezzanine level at the Bloor Street store from August 18 – August 30, 2010. Holt Renfrew is delighted to welcome fashion photographer Tommy Ton to Holt Renfrew Bloor Street, Wednesday, August 18, 2010 for a private event to launch an exhibit of his work. The exhibit of 12 images of some of fall 2010’s most sought-after footwear styles will be housed at Holt Renfrew Bloor Street from August 18 to August 30 on the mezzanine level. These one-of-a-kind photos were taken by Tommy Ton this spring in Toronto and have each been signed by the photographer himself. For the duration of the exhibit, Holt Renfrew will host a contest where one can enter the chance to win one of 12 framed and autographed prints valued at $1,500. Ezra Constantine Spring 2011 Preview

The Ezra Constantine Spring 2011 preview took place at the home of Michael Cooper and Krystal Koo. They are friends of Kirk and Stephen’s who generously made their home available for a great fashion experience.  The choice of forgoing the fashion show was a smart one as the garden party atmosphere was enjoyed by everyone and well into the night.  It’s hard not to love good looking men, Macallan Scotch, Peroni, great fashion, friends and beautiful weather. It was an eight look preview into the Spring 2011 collection. The boys promised their will be more to looks to come. The collection continued along with design treatments from previous season with cowl necks, slim and fitted pants with oversized pockets. I felt there was a touch of safari and military in the olive and khaki looks. I liked the draping added to the structure in those pieces. They even threw in some sheer pants and put them on beautiful Paolo. Standouts for me were the white shirt and khaki skort look and the khaki button up …

I love Rado’s incredibly expensive watches. The collaboration between Rado and and designer Jasper Morrison were some of my favourite things at The Interior Design Show this year. You can read more about the launch of the Rado x Jasper Morrison launch on designboom. The collaboration must have been popular because Rado has unveiled a new style, the r5.5 White Jubile. It’s a White High Tech Ceramic Bracelet, champagne colored sun brushed dial with 8 diamonds, sapphire crystal. It retails for, gulp, $3,000. The ornate nature of these Alexander McQueen Fall 2010 – 2011 shoes has me speechless. The Object Fetish by SHOWstudio: Alexander McQueen Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 Shoes video blew me away but I didn’t realize how extensive the ornate shoe collection was. I’d love to see these up close. I’m so curious about the materials used. Gap Premium Pant Collection Fall 2010

Gap invited media over one morning to check out the Premium Pant Collection. The response was big and everyone was posting and tweeting about the pants. I contributed to that myself. There are 5 different styles of pants in your typical Gap styles: Boy Fit, Modern Boot, Curvy, Perfect Trouser and Slim Cropped.  All the styles came in black and some had navy blue or grey options.  Each person got a pair for our own evaluation.  The Slim Cropped style drew me in and I opted for that.  They only came in black.  I was really happy with the fit and stretchy material.  They are the type of pants you buy a size smaller because they will stretch out.  They didn’t do a very good job of repelling my cat’s hair so I think the lint resistance thing is a little suspect. After washing the fit stays true and the colour doesn’t fade. There were some predictions that the Slim Cropped would sell out. I believed this would happen; the pants fit very well. Many …
