Christian Dior Secret Garden – Versailles Videos

Met my fashion kryptonite with Dior using Depeche Mode as the music for their Secret Garden – Versailles video series. May 2012 – Secret Garden – Versailles A film by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, starring Daria Strokus, Melissa Stasiuk and Xiao Wen Ju in La Galeries Des Glaces – Château de Versailles. Depeche Mode: ‘Enjoy the Silence’ June 2013 – Secret Garden – Versailles The Château de Versailles, emblem of Dior’s tradition, hosts a new tale which brings to life the Dior Fall 2013 collection. The chateau and its park abound with well-kept secrets. The heart of the royal land conceals an extraordinary world of poetry and color: in the depth of its mysterious woods a secret garden blooms out of sight, inhabited by flower-women. From the Grand Trianon to the enchanted forest, Versailles becomes the picturesque backdrop of a dreamlike tale. Depeche Mode – Behind the Wheel

i want: Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II

I was in Bay Bloor radio looking for some spare earbud covers but somehow ended up getting a demo of the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II. My earbuds were sold out but I started talking to the Sale Associate about the Beats Pill, a portable speaker. The wasn’t sold on Beats but mentioned that Bose has the best portable speaker in the business right now. I was intrigued so it was demo time. The speaker connect to devices wirelessly via Bluetooth which makes it available for use by any Bluetooth enabled device. A major plus for those that love their iPhone upgrades and the inevitable change in hardware that makes all peripherals obsolete. I connected my iPhone to the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II and started pumping out some Lucy Pearl. Bay Bloor Radio was filled with the sweet sounds of “Don’t Mess With My Man”. There was power and clarity in this portable speaker. I was really impressed because I’ve never heard a small portable speaker with such huge sound. It’s only …

Check out these great clips from the show Intro + Dance Or Die Locked Inside Tightrope Wonderland And she went crowdsurfing which was pretty fun to watch image: Ashley Bartlett

Maceo Parker in Toronto on Feb 11, 2011

Thanks to @SoundboardTO, official Massey Hall & Roy Thomson Hall twitter account I won tickets to see funk legend Maceo Parker in Toronto. Maceo Parker (pronounced /ˈmeɪsiːoÊŠ/; born February 14, 1943) is an American funk and soul jazz saxophonist, best known for his work with James Brown in the 1960s, as well as Parliament-Funkadelic in the 1970s. Parker was a prominent soloist on many of Brown’s hit recordings, and a key part of his band, playing alto, tenor and baritone saxophones(source). Since the Nokia N8 takes such great video I decided to utilize it for this talent.

Janelle Monáe and Karl Lagerfeld

I’m trying to organize my gmail account so I’ve started adding filters. The number of ways to filter PR pitches is working pretty good I think. Now that I’m getting a bit organized I rediscovered this great video of Janelle Monáe and Karl Lagerfeld chatting that Marisa from Atlantic Records send me way back in mid December. It’s pretty cute. I love, love Janelle Monáe. Amazing musician with perfect style. This post just isn’t complete without some videos and photos. Cold War Tightrope Tightrope live on Letterman. This gives me chills. tightrope letterman liveUploaded by yardie4lifever2. – Explore international webcam videos. Many Moons: short film image: thirstyroots.com

The Uniform Project Pilots with Isis Salam

The second year of the Uniform Project finds Sheena hanging up the dress and finding others called The Uniform Project Pilots. Musician Isis Salam is October’s The Uniform Project Pilot and she is raising money for One Laptop per Child, a non-profit organization working to provide access to education to every child in the world. it’s just past the halfway point and if you have any spare dollars please head over to The Uniform Project’s website and donate. Ladies and Gents introducing the one the only, most versatile little black dress on the planet! I can go from feeling like Mad Men’s Christian Hendricks day time to hot cocktail drinking soho fashionista at night. If the last 3 years of touring have taught me anything, it’s a solid appreciation for chic simplicity. First two photos is the front (or back depending on the mood) and then I flipped it around to showcase the cute buttons and pleats. I must say I’m pretty excited about this project not only is it for a great cause but …

The Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project with Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker

I’m sure the generators dying as the lead singer from USS (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker) started to play his guitar wasn’t part of the plan. I stood there in shock.  The Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project concert with USS isn’t starting off on the right foot. I felt terrible for the band but being professionals he sat down on the edge of the stage, gathered everyone closer and began an acoustic set. It seems he was just pulling songs out of the air to keep the crowd entertained. It was great to see them making the most out of a horrible situation. I felt bad for the band but I got a kick out of the Techs freaking the hell out. This type of thing can’t be good for business. They were running around doing their best to get things started again. After five minutes of darkness I wondered if they would be able to get things going again. It wasn’t looking good until the 20 minute mark when the roar of the generator filled the quiet …

Lexus Live at Distillery with The Stills

The Distillery District turned into a free concert venue for a weekend when Lexus debuted the CT 200h to the public. The Lexus CT 200h is their entry into the hybrid market with this sporty coup design. They claim it’s the world’s first luxury compact hybrid car. It also used recycled material for parts like the seats. The car reminded me of my friend in Santa Monica, Paul. He has a hybrid car and tells me he fills up once a month. LA memories and desires were still fresh at this time and everything reminded me that I needed to go back. I attended a little cocktail before the performance of The Stills at The Boiler House which is a gorgeous looking restaurant. I had dinner there a long time ago, probably like 5 years. I’ve been back for the occasional party though. The Still were very good. This was my first exposure to them and I was told they were so four years ago. Who knew! I don’t follow music much at all. I …

The sunglasses come in two options: 24 carat gold plated or silver plated. Linda Farrow is well known for her collaborations. She worked with Alexander Wang to create the fabulous cat eye sunglasses.

Hublot Depeche Mode Watches

Hublot Depeche Mode Watches

Way back in December I wrote a post called “I can’t wait to see the Hublot Depeche Mode Watches”. Luxury watchmaker Hublot is creating 12 “pop” versions of their very popular Big Bang series with one of my favourite bands, Depeche Mode. Each one of a kind watch will feature a different Depeche Mode album cover. They will be sold at auction with proceeds going to the Teenage Cancer Trust. There were no images of the Hublot Depeche Mode watches at the time and I was suppose to check back when the auction happen. I forgot and it’s taken me this long to follow up, ha ha. So here are the watches. My favourites are Music for the Masses and Sounds of the Universe. images: hublot.com, liveauctioneers.com

La Roux Toronto 2009

I saw La Roux on a whim at the El Mo. I have to say, I’m impressed. They put on a great show, this is no studio band. Elly Jackson’s voice is the real deal. She is completely amazing. You can check out the Official La Roux YouTube page for videos. They won’t let me embed. 🙁 This is another Blackberry enabled post. I really need to recharge my camera’s batteries stat.
