i want: Monocle x Porter Tote Bag

A Monocle store is opening around my neighborhood. I spotted it walking home from the first night of Festival Music House. Every since then, I’ve been thinking about this simple tote. It’s not an it bag but the Porter Tote Bag. The Monocle store will open on October 18, 2012 in Little Italy.

I want – I got Does TIFF – Tastemakers Lounge

I participated in a little bit of  TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) events this year. First stop on my journey for 2012 started at the eight annual Tastemakers Lounge at the InterContinental Toronto Centre hotel. They had a number of brands including Yorkdale Mall, La Senza, Indeed Laboratories, The Tea Emporium, Kiss, Popchips, John Allan, Demeter Fragrance Library, Kimberley’s Own All Natural Granola, Bobble, Le Dolci, Viviscal Maximum Strength, Me + You… and Emjoi MICRO Pedi in the lounge and all ready to give free stuff to celebrities coming through. Media types got a smaller selection of goods with big-ticket items going to talent. Here are my top swag picks Kimberley’s Own All Natural Granola is wheat- and gluten-free, oat-based granola. I had the Just Seeds flavour and I’ve already finished off the bag I was given. It was delicious. I love Microsoft mice. Every mouse I’ve loved to death has been an MS product. So, I was delighted to get the Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse “Year of the Dragon” from Yorkdale, who will be …

Smythe Fall 2012 – 2013 Videos

Smythe celebrates the fall 2012 collection with these great campaign videos. I love the rough and tumble outdoorsy women contrasted with the feminine outfits and beautiful silhouettes of the Smythe jackets. Smythe celebrates Fall 2012 with this film created by Toronto creative agency Open, directed by Christina Hodnet (Sons & Daughters) and with music by Apollo.

i want: Arien by Dr Martens

I really want a pair of Church’s shoes but I came across these Dr Martens that I could equally love. The Arien style is part of the Creeper collection with a pointed toe and low profile Airwair sole. They are sturdy looking too and would make a nice seasonal substitute for my Rokin derby shoes which can’t handle the winter. The pink Arien’s are pretty sweet too and add a fun, quirky twist to the shoe. They are $149 available online or at the Queen Street store. images:

Hudson Jeans Cabaret Collection Ad Campaign and Videos

I posted one of the three videos for the Hudson Jeans Cabaret Collection already. I loved their use of the running man to showcase the Leeloo jean. The rest of the videos in the campaign for the Cabaret Collection are just as entertaining. Georgia May Jagger is growing on me and I love her in the print ads. The Cabaret was a place where people felt comfortable. They did not have to stick to the usual rules of society. Shot in Paris, the birthplace of the Cabaret, the FW’12 HUDSON Cabaret campaign is a celebration of HUDSON Jeans’ 10 year anniversary in September 2012. Hosted by Georgia May Jagger, and featuring shows by the likes of human beat boxer Tez and Brooklyn electro pop band Au Revoir Simone, HUDSON creates a campaign that applauds self expression and an inspired free thinking attitude. images: courtesy of Hudson Jeans

It’s so lovely to see a beautiful ad campaign for a Canadian designer. I’m so blown away by how great these images for Lucian Matis Fall 2012 are. I saw Lucian’s fall collection during Toronto Fashion Week this march. I’ve included the video so you can get an appreciation of the collection. The Redesign WORN Fashion Journal Project

WORN Fashion Journal is getting a makeover this fall and they are running an Indiegogo campaign to help fund the project. Our readers have told us they keep their issues of WORN at record-breaking rates. Over 97% of WORN readers keep their issues forever. Our content is timeless and always relevant. We believe it makes perfect sense for our readers to want to hang on to their issues of WORN forever. We believe a thicker, perfect-bound edition reflects the true value of WORN. It’s a prestige object our readers should be able to stack on a bookshelf, keep safe in a purse, or display proudly on a coffee table. We believe this new format is a necessary step for WORN. We are no longer a group of friends working in a living room; we’re a real business that makes a product we believe in with all our hearts. We want the outside of WORN to reflect the inside. Where will the money go? WORN needs $5,000 to complete this project. The breakdown is as follows: …

i want: Grand Prix Paneled Skinny Jean by rag & bone/JEAN

The Grand Prix Paneled Skinny Jean by Rag & Bone/Jean is one of many denim items on my fall 2012 hot list. This style is exclusive to Intermix so that’s the only place you’ll find them. I’m not a fan of the white pant for practical reasons; they are stain magnets! However, I do love the look of white pants in theory. The style name is perfect for this jean as the colour blocking placement looks a lot like racing stripes. This is perfect for my long legs paired with a pair of high heels. images:
