I love the print campaign. The photos are so rich and each look is a real transformation.

I’m not a big fan of the ad campaign video for some reason. I find the campaign works better without the talking and I find the men more interesting than Edie for some reason.

I’m not the biggest fan of the Lanvin Spring Summer 2013 Ad Campaign. The models don’t do much for me. I will admit that it’s pretty slick looking and if the models were different I’d probably be very excited. My thoughts about the campaign changed after I watched the adorable Lanvin Spring Summer 2013 Ad Campaign video with Alber Albez talking about the collection on Skype. He is so cute.

Lancôme x Alber Elbaz 2013

I’m so incredibly excited about the Lancôme and Alber Elbaz beauty collaboration. This is going to be massively successful.

“Alber Elbaz is, without a doubt, one of the world’s most influential fashion designers. But beyond that, he is also the most talented, explains Youcef S. Nabi, Lancôme President. His sense of luxury, his vision of femininity and that hint of audacity resonate perfectly with the new values of the Maison Lancôme. We are extremely proud and happy that, with us, he is set to channel his universe into the world of make-up for the very first time.”(source: press email)

The collection will be available in June 2013. Check back for updates.

I love, love this campaign by Lanvin for the fall winter 2012 – 2012 collection. Alber Elbaz grabbed some unique individuals from New York ranging from 18 to 82 years in age. It looks great and I love the selection of people. I’m also loving the number of black people in the campaign, yay Alber.

“I was interested to bring these clothes back to the street somehow, and seeing how they look on different ages, different sizes,” Elbaz told WWD. “It felt like a crazy family, and I like that.”(source)

i want: Lovely Leopold Handbags by Lanvin

Lanvin is making some fun bags this season. I posted about some useful convertible options previously. The Lovely Leopold style is another useful shoulder bag that can double as a cross body. It’s a little like the school boy satchel with a modern spin.

i want: Lanvin Convertible Handbags

Lanvin has some great convertible handbags in their pre-fall collection. The Dear Danae Convertible is made from washed-leather and python. The python oversized clutch is removable

The Dear Danae Cabas is a slouchy leather shoulder bag.  The detachable clutch is just one of the many ways you can wear and use this handbag.

Lanvin x H&M Fall 2010 Illustrations

Lanvin x H&M Illustrations

The Lanvin x H&M Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 Preview gave me access to the H&M press site which had all kinds of multimedia to download. The illustration above was part of the invite I received for the preview. I found two more illustrations from Alber Elbaz on the site.

They call them illustrations but it looks like Alber used pieces of fabric from the collection to create people and clothing.

Lanvin x H&M Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 Preview

Lanvin x HM

I attended the Lanvin x H&M preview this week at the AGO. I was given the opportunity to view the collection in person and get all touchy feeling. I’m very impressed with the collection. The fabrics are well done and there are more than a few pieces that I really like.

Lanvin x HMLanvin x HM

They’ve done a great job to translating Lanvin luxury to the H&M market. The collection is basically favourites from previous collections made at a mass market level. The clothing has shape and the right fabrics to hold and create it.  It’s mostly synthetic but that’s pretty much what Lanvin at the luxury level is too.   I ran into Tommy Ton at the preview and we browsed the racks together for a bit.  He was impressed with the fabric too.  He’s excited about the men’s pants.

Lanvin x HMLanvin x HM

I was impressed with the packaging. It’s beautiful.  Lovely boxes that are perfect for reuse.  The garment bags are cloth and beautiful. Sometimes the packaging is just as exquisite as the item it contains. Hermes certainly knows what they are doing.

Lanvin x H&M Fall Winter 2010 - 2011 Packaging

I was really skeptical of this collection at first but I saw a lot of things that I really liked. Here are my favourites.

Lanvin x H&M Fall Winter 2010 - 2011
Dress $249, Jacket $199
Lanvin x H&M Fall Winter 2010 - 2011
Sunglasses $29.95, Necklace $39.95, Earrings $19.95, Skirt $99.00
Lanvin x H&M Fall Winter 2010 - 2011
Dresses both $199
Lanvin x H&M Fall Winter 2010 - 2011
Dresses $199

I’m not sold on the shoes and I think some of the jewellery isn’t very nice and cheap looking. I dislike the handbags too. However, there is enough really great things that gives it a thumbs up in my book. I’m not lining up to buy this collection. It’s not going to happen as I’m way too old for this shit. I’m not interested in the frenzy, elbows to the head or bitter feelings that accompanies these kind of spectacles.

Lanvin x H&M Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 Video

Lanvin x H&M

You’ve probably heard the news, Lanvin is the next H&M designer collaboration. It’s a men’s and women’s collection by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver. There have been some photos to show up but finally here is a great video that shows a lot of the looks. I’m getting a preview of the collection on Wednesday and I’m super pumped to see this stuff in person. It’s gonna be awesome or crap.

I still think that their is a lot of potential in the jewellery department. I’ll be paying close attention.

You can see Lanvin for H&M Women’s Lookbook images on nitrolicious.com.

Lanvin Spring Summer 2011

Lanvin Spring Summer 2011 Womens

It seems almost impossible to dislike anything Alber Elbaz touches. The Lanvin woman is a bit softer from spring 2011. The Klingon warrior women from fall 2010 is taking the season off.

Lanvin Spring Summer 2011 Womens

I’m not salivating over the shoes and jewellery like I normally do. I guess I’m not feeling the butterfly theme. I really like the bags though. They are those small to medium structured handbags that are all over the runways right now.

Lanvin Spring Summer 2011 Womens

I’m pretty much a sucker for full skirts that billow when you walk. I’m all over anything with movement. It’s dramatic and explains my love of this collection.

Lanvin x H&M

Lanvin x H&M

You’ve probably heard the news, Lanvin is the next H&M designer collaboration. It’s a men’s and women’s collection by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz and menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver. At first I was sad about it and discussed it on twitter a lot. Now I extremely curious as to how this will unfold and what is up H&M’s sleeve. I want to see how they translate this statement “the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public”. Is that some of semantic spin?

I think there is a lot of potential for the jewellery in this collaboration.  I’m speculating the clothing will be a lot of the tshirt jersey type pieces, but they may surprise me.  The collection will be released to the world on November 2, 2010 in the form of an online video at www.hm.com. It will then go on sale in North American stores on November 20, 2010 while the rest of the world has to wait until November 23, 2010.

“H&M approached us to collaborate and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.” Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin.

“We are thrilled about Lanvin’s collection for H&M, it is such an exciting moment. Lanvin will bring to H&M a luxurious French tradition that is also modern and playful. It is very much a Lanvin collection, using their cut and tailoring, with sharp focus on shape and details for both women and men. The launch in November is going to be full of wonderful surprises.” Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M.

Tommy Ton returned to the Toronto fashion scene for an exhibition of his work. Holt Renfrew is displaying Tommy Ton’s photos on the mezzanine level at the Bloor Street store from August 18 – August 30, 2010.

Holt Renfrew is delighted to welcome fashion photographer Tommy Ton to Holt Renfrew Bloor Street, Wednesday, August 18, 2010 for a private event to launch an exhibit of his work. The exhibit of 12 images of some of fall 2010’s most sought-after footwear styles will be housed at Holt Renfrew Bloor Street from August 18 to August 30 on the mezzanine level.

These one-of-a-kind photos were taken by Tommy Ton this spring in Toronto and have each been signed by the photographer himself. For the duration of the exhibit, Holt Renfrew will host a contest where one can enter the chance to win one of 12 framed and autographed prints valued at $1,500. Please see contest details at Holt Renfrew Bloor Street.

I attended the party for Tommy opening night. I really liked what they did with the shoe department. Tommy’s photos were hanging everywhere. The hottest fall 2010 shoes strategically placed on pedestals and encased in clear cubes. They included a pair of Fall 2010 Alexander McQueen shoes that are worth $4000!

Pic Me Tommy Ton at Holt Renfrew

It wasn’t all fun for Tommy at the party, he was working photographing the attendees shoes. This would be the first and only time many people (myself included) would ever have Tommy shoot their shoes. I was glad I didn’t wear my Camilla’s as I noticed someone else in them. I wore some Nine West sandals because I was wearing pants and the shoes weren’t visible. I got Tommy to shoot them anyways, why not right.

Pic Me Tommy Ton at Holt Renfrew

I didn’t take many photos of the guests but I loved Tommy’s animal print sweater. It was so soft. Jaime amazed me with his head to toe Patrik Ervell ensemble. I did lose my shit when I saw him. There aren’t many people who could pull the look off the head to toe print and I was pretty excited to see Jamie executing it perfectly in front of me.  He’s just too adorable.

Pic Me Tommy Ton at Holt Renfrew

Of course the shoes were a major part of the party and we all drooled over McQueen, YSL, Dior, Lanvin, Chloe and Balenciaga. I’m a fan of Chloe boots this season, big time.

Lanvin Opens First New York Store

Lanvin Opens First New York Store

Lanvin has opened it’s first New York store at 815 Madison Avenue. I must stop by when I’m in New York again. It looks opulent.

And now it has one. Lanvin is poised to open at the end of the week its first location here at 815 Madison Avenue near 68th Street. The store will occupy 3,550 square feet and the first three floors of a 6,875-square-foot, five-story town house. The two upper floors will become the company’s corporate headquarters in September.

Lanvin Opens First New York Store

“My dream when I started at Lanvin was to create this kind of luxury supermarket,” Elbaz said. “It would have everything you needed — T-shirts, bridal dresses, jeans, handbags, jewelry and shoes. I really believe the whole concept of going to a store when you need something. Women have enough. What I have to do is make their life easy. The product is all about dreams. In the store, everything is very clear.”

Lanvin is planning to open a store in Beijing, Elbaz said, adding: “That will be the next project.” The company also has a store in the works in Los Angeles, but the timing is still not known. “We’re thinking of new stores,” said Elbaz, noting that Madison Avenue is the third U.S. store after Bal Harbour, Fla., and Las Vegas

Lanvin Bridal Spring Summer 2010

Lanvin Bridal Spring Summer 2010
Leave it to Lanvin to make bridal I like. I was trolling Net-a-Porter and saw items from the bridal line that I’ve heard lots about but never have seen until now.

Lanvin Bridal Spring Summer 2010

I’m a big fan of the dresses on the right in the images. The short ruffled one is my absolute favourite. What a fun dress to get married in and you wouldn’t even have to change for the reception. After the wedding, dye it another colour and you have a dress you can wear at other occasions.

Lanvin Accessories – Fall Winter 2010

Lanvin Accessories – Fall Winter 2010

I love the jewellery in the Lanvin Ready to Wear – Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 collection. My first thought was Klingons. For some reason the Lanvin fall winter 2010 jewellery gives me a Klingon’s vibe.  It seems to fit the warrior theme. I couldn’t get it out of my head so I asked The Grumpy Owl. He agreed and and sent me a picture of Gowron. Now I don’t feel that crazy.

Lanvin ♥ Acne 2010
The Lanvin Acne denim collaboration that started with the Spring 2009 collection continues. It must be a yearly endeavor because I was wondering when the next update would be. It looks like they cut out the Men’s version of the line as I don’t see it on the shop.acnestudios.com website.

Lanvin ♥ Acne 2010

I really like the draped denim dress, they really look like Lanvin pieces

I don’t think Holt Renfrew will be stocking this season of Lanvin ♥ Acne after seeing how many pieces were left at Now or Never time and Last Call. But I will confirm for sure. You can purchase the Lanvin ♥ Acne 2010 collection at the Acne Online Shop.
