This campaign image for M∙A∙C x Antonio Lopez collection is just breath taking. 70s supermodels Marisa Berenson, Jerry Hall and Pat Cleveland aka Antonio’s Girls look absolutely incredible here. Antonio Lopez is one of the great fashion illustrators and M∙A∙C has created a collection based on his work and muses. I’m absolutely in love with the packaging.
The legendary fashion illustrator’s vibrant energy, brazen attitude and love of life inspire a striking colour collection featuring: Eyes x 6 Palettes, Lips x 3 Palettes and Face Palettes perfect for highlighting natural tones and contours. Each palette displays the fiercely individual face of one of his muses, “Antonio’s Girls,†while each product’s packaging features a drawing by the artist, making these objets d’art to be treasured.
I’m lucky this season for my favourite models headlining campaigns this season. Mariacarla Boscono is one of the stars of the Christian Dior Fall Winter 2013 – 2014 Ad Campaign. I’m not big on the whole campaign so I’ve only included the two I like.
The Fall Winter 2013 – 2014 ad campaigns are starting to come out and so far Miu Miu is my favourite.
There are some really striking images in the campaign. The love the way the colours seem so saturated and leap off the page.
Evoking a spirit of adventure and daring, the Fall/Winter 2013 campaign captures the passage of girls in a twilight cinema-scape loaded with intrigue, imagination and femininity. Set at the end of a seaside pier, their stories unfurl against a mysterious cityscape and vanishing horizon, brought to life in an up-tempo quirky dance video where the models move harmoniously with the rhythm and mood of the music. While standing on the dock of the bay waiting for a ferry, they dance away the fun of the night before returning home in the early morning.
In a fabricated reality of noir optimism, Inez & Vinoodh capture a diverse and exhilarating cast of characters including Katlin Aas, Emily DiDonato, Daphne Groeneveld, Georgia May Jagger, Adriana Lima, Marina Nery, Hind Sahli, Anne Verhallen and Lindsey Wixson. From these curious rendez-vous materializes the idiosyncratic sense of adventure that encapsulates this collection.

The campaign video is even better than the still images. I just love it. The duo Inez & Vinoodh directed the film and it features the models: Adriana Lima, Anne Verhallen, Daphne Groeneveld, Emily DiDonato, Georgia May Jagger, Hind Sahli, Katlin Aas, Lindsey Wixson, Marina Nery.
It’s been a long time since I saw the Miu Miu Fall – Winter 2013 – 2014 Fashion Show so lets refresh our memories
I haven’t watched any fashion reality television in years. When I heard that one of my fashion heroes Naomi Campbell would be hosting The FACE, I lost my shit. This would be everything that ANTM wasn’t.
“The Face,†hosted by photographer Nigel Barker, features supermodel coaches Naomi Campbell, Karolina Kurkova and Coco Rocha as they compete to find the face of ULTA Beauty, one of the fastest growing beauty retailers in the United States. The series will give viewers access inside the world of the industry as three teams of aspiring models, each led by one of the supermodel coaches, are guided through real life assignments, including photo shoots and commercials.
The show is brilliant and let’s be serious, it’s great to be able to stare at Nigel again. It’s way more serious than ANTM and Naomi tells it like it is. I fell completely in love with the show when Naomi told a couple models that no one gives a damn about their sob stories and to get it together. I’ve gotten a whole new level of respect for Karolina Kurkova through the show, she is bad ass.
Can’t wait for Episode 6 as the war between the model judges is getting heated up.
I’m not the biggest fan of the Lanvin Spring Summer 2013 Ad Campaign. The models don’t do much for me. I will admit that it’s pretty slick looking and if the models were different I’d probably be very excited. My thoughts about the campaign changed after I watched the adorable Lanvin Spring Summer 2013 Ad Campaign video with Alber Albez talking about the collection on Skype. He is so cute.

The October 2012 issue of Harper’s Bazaar China had a beautiful Parisian themed editorial with model Miao Bin Si. For the 26th anniversary of the magazine they fly to Paris for this retro style editorial.
I love everything about this editorial. The makeup is perfect and I love seeing the stylist create classic looks using current designers.

I had to do a double take when these Chanel Spring Summer 2012 ad campaign shots came out. What the hell was Joan Smalls doing in a Chanel ad. My head was exploding (this was a good thing in this situation). First, Indian girls in the Chanel Pre-Fall 2012 show and now Joan Smalls in the latest ad campaign. I like this trend.
As for this ad campaign overall. Joan doesn’t have as many solo shots as Saskia. The photos are lovely but ultimately pretty boring.

I like the Givenchy Fall Winter 2011 – 2012 Ad Campaign and I don’t. I love that Mariacarla Boscono and Naomi Campbell are participating but the expressions in the photos seem a little forced. I’m usually a Givenchy die hard but the fall winter 2011 – 2012 season wasn’t appealing to me. Doesn’t make much sense since I usually love cat imagery.
The men’s campaign is better executed.

The guys from SHOWstudio shoot model, Ming Xi in various iconic pieces from the Spring Summer 2011 Haute Couture collections. Designers featured include Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci, and John Galliano for Christian Dior. I’ve embedded the fashion film featuring Ming Xi here on the site but I urge you to check out the SHOWstudio site because each Haute Couture look get an in depth video treatment like the Givenchy one I posted a couple weeks ago. These videos give you an up close look at the dresses and talks about significant design details. Plus, there is an interesting interview with Ming.
The colours in this editorial for Dazed & Confused’s July 2011 issue are so rich.  The flowers are a perfect backdrop for the colourful clothing worn by model Lisanne de Jong. The editorial was shot by Viviane Sassen.
Some people in The Fashion Spot forums were complaining that Lisanne’s face was covered in most shots. I thought it was refreshing that her face wasn’t the focus of the shots. Â It brought the clothing details to the forefront.
I love this ad campaign video for the Yves Saint Laurent spring summer 2011 collection. It was filmed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin with the model Arizona Muse. Mushroom & Roses is the name of the Janelle Monae song in the ad.
