Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton Documentary

Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton Documentary

I found the Marc Jacob & Louis Vuitton documentary on Youtube. It seems to be missing the last little bit of the documentary but the quality is not bad. However it is only partially dubbed. There are no subtitles either. There is a lot of conversation in French that isn’t translated which is a bit of a shame. I will have to grab the DVD because it’s quite a fascinating movie. From Japan to America, the LV sign dominates the fashion scene. And, one man alone designs the Louis Vuitton creations—the exceptional Marc Jacobs. With unprecedented access to one of the world’s hottest and busiest designers, Loïc Prigent offers an intimate and revealing portrait of the reclusive Marc Jacobs and the world of haute couture. Whether in the offices and workrooms of Paris and New York, the back of his car, or backstage at a fashion show, we see a genius at work. Jacobs endures unimaginable pressure to chart new paths in fashion as he straddles the demands of the Louis Vuitton conglomerate and his …

i want: Chloé Spring 2007 Shoes

I’m loving the shoes from Chloé this season. Chloé Piped leather sandals These are pretty and I love the colour. Chloé Perspex panel platform sandals Chloé Patent leather sandals These are so weird they are awesome. Chloé Patent leather sandals I like the new Chloé, it was time to switch up the brand. EDIT: Holt Renfew is carrying the silver version of the Piped leather sandals. They are stunning in person, it’s a shame that they aren’t in teal. images: net-a-porter.com

Stella McCartney for LeSportsac has arrived

Some of the new Stella McCartney for LeSportsac bags are nice. You all know I love the prints. This is my favourite bag and print. It’s a big bag too. I love big bags 🙂 The collection is available for Pre-Order only online at the LeSportSac website. You will not see these in the stores apparently. EDIT: I’m wrong, you can pick up the collection at Holt Renfrew. Thank you LouLou maybe I won’t let my subscription expire now. images: lesportsac.com

NYC Fashion Week Spring 2008 – Ruffian

After Phi it was off to Ruffian at the National Arts Club, right besides Gramercy Park. The building is so completely stunning, I was blown away. Unfortunately, it was terrible for pictures with my crappy digital camera so I don’t have any. The show was an hour late. All the shows I went to were late, but usually only 20 – 30 minutes. The next show, Temperly was waiting for us though. I enjoyed parts of this show. The presentation was amazing, great location and great music. The One Winged Dove Dress in Pomp Pink Satin Faced Organza that Canadian, Lisa Cant wore knocked everyone’s socks off. The high waisted pants and the jackets were amazing. I loved this set: Bustier Trouser in Clay Pearlized Cotton, McLaran Jacket in Clay Pearlized Cotton. ( I love line sheets, thanks thoughtful designers). All the clothes that used the white flowered material reminded me of bed sheets and wallpaper. I didn’t like any of the last 3 gowns either. Video of the show is after the jump…

i got: Maria Serrano Shoes

Maria Serrano Shoes My black gladiator sandals bit the dust early this summer. I replaced them with these white ones. They should last much longer because of the quality upgrade. Maria Serrano shoes is a Toronto based company that sells shoes made in Argentina. Our intention is to feature new and different lines of shoes that are beautifully wearable. Every one of our shoes is made in Argentina and exclusive to Canada alone. We will carry limited quantities of each style so running into someone on the street with “your” shoes won’t happen. I also got these red girly flat shoes, which is a little unusual for me. If I’m wearing flats they are running shoes, so this is a departure. I purchased them at a small sample sale I was invited to. You can also get her stuff online or at the small number of events she attends. Watch her space for details.

My Silver Shoes

I never did pick up the Gucci boots at the Now Or Never sale at Holt’s but I did manage to find a pair of Silver heels to satisfy my wanton lust for a pair. They’ve done me well this summer. I love the style of heel on the shoe and I’m very tempted by the dark plum coloured version.

i got: Danube platforms by Nine West

Danube platforms by Nine West I always wished to be taller than I am. I currently stand at 5’5″ but I really wanted to be between 5’10” and 5’11”. It started in high school, I longed for the height because I played basketball and volleyball. I’ve found an artificial way of getting taller and it’s these shoes I picked up from Nine West. They add like 3 to 4 inches, it’s awesome. My shoes look a little different than the picture. The platform doesn’t have the woven finish, it has a plain wood one. Nine West is having a great sale right now, summer shoes are half off. Have you noticed that Nine West is stocking some hot ass shoes lately

i want…

Beyonce in Balenciaga?

So Beyonce bought the CP30 leggings from the Spring Summer 2007. I’m curious to see this look, it’s going to be fugtastic. I can’t imagine her pulling it off, especially if she’s using some fug shirt made by her mom. So do you think she can pull it off? Terrence Koh struts around NYC in the Balenciaga leggings with video below. There are pictures of him getting ready, it seems like and intensive process. More pictures at this link (look for entry – 2007-06-11 15:54:55 – MODEL CITIZENS DEATH IN BALENCIAGA) Turns out the leggings weren’t $100,000 as previously hyped. but a mere $18,000.

Girls Come First: Vice Magazine/Rimmel Party

I went to the Girls Come First: Vice Magazine/Rimmel Party on Friday. For the first 2 hours of the party it was only women. The bar was free and there was lots of good food going around so it was pretty nice. The gallery was completely barren, it was literally a white box, some artwork would have been wonderful to see. A lot of girls lined up for the make up and manicures that were available. Styles were all over the place and I can’t say any one look dominated the night. There were some things that caught my eye enough to photograph. Cute ass dunks. I’m not a Nike fan, but I would buy these. I even guessed where she bought them from, Goodfoot. I’m so damn good. I cut this poor girl’s head off a bit, but I was really concerned about the dress. Proenza Schouler from Target. It was $35 dollars and so beautiful.

i got, then returned

I purchased two items from the Gap Designer Collections, a Thakoon dress and a Rodarte shirt. The dress I was iffy from the start but I took it home to try it on with shoes and all that. It didn’t fit the way I would have liked. I am very happy with my sleeveless Rodarte shirt though. Bloor Street is the only location selling these designs, btw.

i want: Dixie Grey dress

Dixie Grey dress I love the silhouette on this dress. Empire waist, square neckline and puff sleeves are all I need. I’m even liking the flower polka dot pattern on the fabric. I hate the polka dot trend with a passion. Most things I’ve seen are very tacky. With the exception of this dress from the gap (waiting for the sale on this one), polka dots should stay small. Anything that I’ve liked is usually always a small dot. via iheartluxe.com images: www.sally-b.com

i got..

Tasty Wooden Brooch by Princess Tina My trips to Queen street west always include a stop at Magic Pony. I saw this mushroom brooch and I had to have it. Princess Tina looks like she has some nice things, her site is beautiful and yet very aggravating to me. I want close up shots.

Go Run Easy

Last week, I attended the Reebok Run Easy media and celeb breakfast. We all gathered at the Toronto Argonauts Rowing club for the presentation. Getting there was a total fiasco. Crossing Lake Shore Blvd in the morning is a nightmare and to top it off my cab driver dropped me off in the wrong spot. I thought it couldn’t get worst, then I find out we’re running this morning. Ugh, not what I want to do at all. Thankfully, Reebok is providing the running gear. I was given a bag of Reebok goodies (running jacket, pant and a t-shirt) when I signed in. I moved into another room to get my shoes fitted. I sat down beside Jackie Henessey (I thought it was Jill, my favourite D.A. from Law and Order and recently on Crossing Jordan) and said hi. I also cooed at her cute baby. I was wearing the Anita cuff and she asked me about it. I explained the story of how it was designed for me and let her know that she …

i got…

A BinBin Striped Dress This was a great find at the BinBin Sample Sale. It goes great with my other nautical inspired gear. I’m loving the mini trend this summer so I’ve been obsessed with finding more.

i want…

There are 2 silver shoes this Spring/Summer 2007 season that have me captivated. First is these Romy silver booties by Gucci. So perfect, so my style. Second are these great sandals by Louis Vuitton I’ve been looking for something similar and cheaper all over town and haven’t had luck. Those of you that can afford this stuff in Toronto check Holt’s for the Gucci boots and Louis Vuitton for the sandals. I finally got my silver fix satisfied thanks to Nine West (more to come on that). images: style.com and louisvuitton.com
