Hi, TO local married male here, both my wife and I love fashion and shopping. We Wanted to know if you have any info or tips on the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets in NY? because We’re considering going but want to know if its worth the trip
I’m not an outlet person really. I even stayed away from them when I was in Vegas. I’ve never been to the Woodbury Common, but I did some digging and came up with some reviews on the following sites:
http://travel.yahoo.com/p-reviews-2736862-prod-travelguide-action-read-ratings_and_reviews-i

As with everything on the internet you have to take these reviews with a grain of salt. However, most people seem to think that Woodbury Common is a good outlet.

my girlfriend and i went to woodbury in may. if you like outlets i then you will love this place. i personally wouldn’t go again unless i had a car and a lot of time, you have to take a chartered bus which cost $35… If you do take refuse the coupon book and you can get the bus ticket for less. and you can one for free from the woodbury website. i would recommend searching for sample sales in ny instead. e-rock

geekgirl, hey no problem. actually woodbury is an 45-60min outside of new york city, so it is not a day trip from toronto. it is a day trip if you are visiting new york, although like i said the sample sales in new york are much better than woodbury.

i went there in june w/ some gfs. it was part of a ’shopping tour’ from taipan tours. it costed $130 (since thre were 4 of us) for 2 nights 3 days. they took us to waterloo outlet mall (near rochester, ny), woodbury, nigara falls prime outlet (buffalo).
anyhow, woodbury was good… but i guess it also depends on which stores are ur favs! if ur a semi frugal shopper like myself, u can prob enjoy a shopping day even at buffalo’s prime outlet instead of driving all the way to woodbury (walden galleria is also close by in buffalo…10-15 min drive from the prime outlet. theres also a huge shopping area at exit 3 off highway 290 too! so 3 places for shopping in buffalo lol it only takes about 1 hr & 30 mins to get there if u dun have to wait long at the border). however theres quite a bit of upscale shops at woodbury u may enjoy (jimmy choo, dior, etc.). btw i strongly recommend buying shoes in the states lol cheap and comfy!!!!
it is def. not a day trip since its prob 8 hrs or so from toronto

I have to say I LOVE Woodbury Commons. I lived in NYC for 6 years and would make the trip about twice a year. When I visit NYC for a 3 or 4 day weekend I still make the trip out there. Some stores usually have great deals. The DVF stores have merchandise that is very current (as in it was on sale at Barney’s last week and is at the outlet a week later), a good size range AND the prices are low. I once got a DVF dress priced at $495 for $75. The Coach outlet usually have good extra % off deals if you like coach. Burberry also has some steals on their standard merchandise. When Space (the Prada outlet) goes on sale there are some excellent deals such as heels for $80.
You really have to time your visits well and your success depends on if you choose to go for super deep discounts and less selection or less discounts but more selection.
Also there is another bus company called ExperssTrails that has cheaper fares than what you find through the companies on the Woodbury Website and you still get the coupon booklet.
Happy Shopping!
