I can’t believe that I’m bored by the Christian Dior Spring Summer 2008 Haute Couture collection

I’ve said it. John has officially bored me. It’s like I’ve been seeing the same collection for the past few seasons, with no real movement forward. Don’t get me wrong, the garments are made to perfection and the details are incredible. I’m just bored with this, even with the Klimt references. That’s really damn hard to do, Klimt is my favourite artist! That being said, there are a few pieces that I liked. (Click on thumbnails for larger images) I did get a kick out of the hats and amazing makeup job. I really shouldn’t pass final judgment until I see the video. images: thefashionspot and vouge.com.au

That Secret Garden a-line dress by Chloe is the stuff of dreams!

I blogged about theSecret Garden a-line dress by Chloe from the Fall 2007 ready to wear collection in November. It’s fantastic in pictures and absolutely stunning in person. I tried on the Chloe dress for kicks and I just had to take unauthorized photos. It was so beautiful. A heavy duty open end two-way zipper ran the length of the back of the dress. It’s definitely a winter dress, the wool made it a lot heavier than I expected. I’m in love, I can’t believe it was on the sale rack. It was still too pricey for me, so I only got a brief taste of its exquisiteness. This is the runway look and a closer look at the detail. images: me and elle.com

They are so desparate.

Well, thanks to Goldenfidder I saw this pathetic post from People.com. What Should the Stars Have Worn to the Golden Globes? Can we please stop now, the awards season is dead!

Prada Fall Winter 2008 – Men’s Ready to Wear

I don’t normally follow the men’s collections too much, but I’ve decided to do something different. I don’t know what Miuccia is thinking this year, but I really don’t like men in miniskirts. There are a bunch of looks that I really dislike, like the nude tops. (click to see larger versions) However, there is a winner; this beautiful red suit. I like the boots too, but not together.

i want: Madame Fortuna Jewellery

Madame Fortuna jewelry These two necklaces feature hand blown glass with a peacock feature and a rose inside them. Inspired by Victorian mourning jewelry and their fascination with the “object” I have created a modern version. Each RELIC consists of an approximately 1″ handblown glass globe on a 24″ gold fill chain with a spring ring clasp. The Peacock feather is the essence of art nouveau and especially timely now with the resurgence of popularity of Paul Poiret, the brilliant designer who outfitted Josephine Baker among many others. Inspired by Victorian mourning jewelry and their fascination with the “object” I have created a modern version. Each RELIC consists of an approximately 1″ handblown glass globe on a 24″ gold fill chain with a spring ring clasp. This particular necklace features an antique petit point rose. The workmanship of this rose is exquisite, a window into the past and a sample of the love that went into craft. I’ve left the globe empty in the back so that you can see “behind the scenes” the way …

I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe.

Yes, that is right people. I bought the Blade Runner – The Ultimate Collectors Edition DVDs over the christmas break. The Final Cut is a visual masterpiece. My jaw was on the floor while watching it, it’s stunning. I love me some Roy. I haven’t watched the documentary Dangerous Days yet, it’s 3.5 hours. I don’t know about you…

I’m kinda looking forward to a season of no reward shows. No actors are going to the Golden Globes, I wonder if they will boycott the Oscars too. One can only pray, I don’t care much for all the award show fashion coverage and the mostly boring, uninspiring, ugly gowns.
