I was on set with 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target the other day for a photoshoot and I happened to get an up close look at the upcoming collection. I like the Target collaborations. I have a couple dresses from the Jason Wu collection that I still wear and love. I was so disappointed that Target didn’t land in Canada before the Parabal Gurung collaboration hit the stores. It looked really good. 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target is the first designer collaboration to hit Target stores in Canada. I don’t have details about store availability yet, but check back for more updated.
‘One of the reasons I wanted to collaborate with Target is because I felt that together we could create a collection that would inspire – one that is cool and chic, but still very accessible’
3.1 Phillip Lim for Target is a sophisticated and elevated collection that is both beautiful and functional. Rooted in a classic fall palette of neutral tones and prints, the collection features a variety of versatile, affordable pieces that modern women and men can wear on-the-go, while remaining effortlessly chic. I mentally selected my top looks from the photos that hit the Internet last week and that didn’t change after seeing them in person. For Women, I’m not interested in the Boom print but I love the paper floral print items. All of them. I also really like the green and blue colour blocked pieces. Rounding it out is the simple black and white dress. The navy camo print in the mens collection is pretty great too. While the handbags don’t make my top pick list they are very well done. They are non-leather versions of some of his hottest luxury handbags.
There are no women’s shoes in the collection. The ones pictured are from 3.1 Phillip Lim collection proper. Only the men get 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target sneakers. Some items in the collection will be exclusive to Target.com and a small number of pieces will be in select stores only (think, leather and suiting). Prices start at $19.99 and go up to $299.
