Rodarte Spring 2009 FTW

I don’t usually get Rodarte. I appreciate their work and the complexity, but I’ve always been meh about them. I don’t know what it is about this Spring collection that has me excited. They have basically expanded and refined the look they presented during Spring 2008 and the Fall 2008 seasons. It just looks so slick and polished for Spring 2009. The presentation of the collection was brilliant and I have to admit, I’m really loving the clothes too. Some of it is totally unwearable, but who the fuck cares. After a week of mediocre shows, Rodarte definitely stands out. Check the video! image: thefashionspot.com

Rad Hourani Ready to Wear – Spring 2009

There was no red in this collection, just basic black in different textures and finishes. His work looks simple but it’s all in the details. I wish there was video. I love these pants!!!!!!!! I love that Rad, a Canadian, is sticking to his signature long and lean silhouette. You can find Rad’s stuff at Holt Renfrew and Reborn in Montreal. The line is unisex which I find really intriguing. i got: A Jacket by Etro

A jacket from Etro One of my amazing consignment finds. 50 bucks! Retail value at the time, $1595 (the original price tag was in the pocket). It’s a beautiful jacket that MJ kept pestering me to buy when it was priced higher. I’m not sure what season it’s from. If anyone can place it, let me know in the comments. This picture was taken in Montreal in my hotel room at the Armor Manoir Sherbrooke. I loved the look of the photo so I needed an excuse to use the image in a blog post.

Valentino: The Last Emperor pictures

Valentino was at the showing. I was dying. We managed to be walking by as he was entering the theater. I felt like we were at the opera from where we were sitting. It was funny because Valentino was sitting in across the theater from us. After the movie there was a long standing O. I cried at the end of course. Such a great movie and lovely story of his relationship with Giancarlo.
