i want: Knits by Sacai

Knits by Sacai. I’ve been turned onto Sacai recently. Abe Chitose worked at Comme des Garçons and Junya Watanabe for 10 years before starting Sacai in 1999. Her knitwear is amazing. Holt Renfrew carries the line and you should really go into the Bloor street store to and check the stuff out, especially if you haven’t had the pleasure of looking at Japanese design up close. I’m in love with the above cardigan, it’s all about the collar and shoulder. The one that Holt’s carries had burgundy in the ruffles. This season was all about the ruffle and it was incorporated throughout the collection. images: the Fashion Spot – sacai F/W 08.09

Linda and Prada, not pretty

I mused about the Fall Winter 2008 – 2009 ad campaign for Prada in a post called “Linda and Prada, hmm”. The results are out and it’s not pretty. click for larger images. The blue shoes in picture number 3 are stunning! The shoe shots are amazing though. See the all the images here.

Jil Sander Fall Winter 2008 – 2009 Ad Campaign

I’m loving the Jil Sander Ad Campaign. I was a fan of his collection this season. His architectural take on the collar had me hooked. Lara Stone looks amazing in these. I’m not a big Natasha fan, but I like her profile shots. via the Fashion Spot – Jil Sander F/W 08.09 : Natasha Poly, Lara Stone & Matvey Lykov by Willy Vanderperre images: same source

Viktor & Rolf, to be swimming in cash!

This is very, very interesting! Renzo Rosso, the Italian industrialist behind Diesel, has acquired a majority stake in the Dutch designer firm Viktor & Rolf with ambitions to build it into one of the “top reference fashion houses of the future.” Financial terms were not disclosed, but Rosso told WWD he plans to make major investments to bolster the duo’s ready-to-wear business, add licensed products such as eyewear and jewelry, plus open freestanding stores in high-visibility locations. via WWD.com Fashion news, retail news, beauty news and more from Women’s Wear Daily
