Castor’s installation for the 5×5: 5 Designers. 5 Inspired Spaces was really cute. They renovated a mobile home and made it quite cosy with couches and a wood stove.

Missoni Home didn’t have a very fancy booth or anything. It was mostly a bunch of fabric rolls. It was the fabrics that made this a favourite thing, they were beautiful
I love the way Paul took this photo of the Hanging Lamps. They look like they are suspended in blackness.

Kosoy & Bouchard Lamp
This laser cut reclaimed Lamp really stuck with me at IDS09. I was told over 200 hours of work went into this beauty. The pictures really don’t do this piece justice.

I was obsessed over this reclaimed freight container that was converted to a “mobile, off the grid, professional design office”. I think the best part is the green roof.

Super cool fashion blog Fifi Lapin has launched a line of bags in the LeSportsac Artist In Residence Program.

Not sure if Holt’s will pick up this line for in person shopping. I will keep an eye out.
Note: Stella McCartney for LeSportsac is 50% off the Fall 2008 collection.
I attended the Interior Design Show 2009 with my photographer Paul Baik on Thursday for the opening night party/media preview and Saturday.
I was really excited about this event because I had a photographer who knew what they were doing. My good friend Paul Baik is a graduate of Ryerson’s photography program. He’s also a Financial District combatant like myself. It would be nice not worrying about photos. He had a slick Nikon D3 that makes my little point and shoot look pathetic beyond belief.
The Media room welcomes us with Veuve and media kits out the ying yang. There was so much to see and I’ve battled with myself as to how I want to present this. Do I do a massive post or break it up? I’ve decided to break it up. This post is an overview and you can use the two slideshows to see the photos. I will be posting about my favourite things from IDS all this week.
Day 1 – Thursday
Day 2 – Saturday

Givenchy has some amazing, amazing shoes right now.
Christian Louboutin did a fuchsia shoe last season, but I think this Givenchy one is much superior. I see me in these with the Alexander McQueen dress I tried on at Holts. I’m freaking myself out.
Givenchy Crossed strap sandals
I’m really smitten with these sandals. They are like the perfect all around summer shoe.
EDIT: I saw the Givenchy Lace ankle sandals at Browns on Bloor Street in Toronto today. They must have just arrived and they have both black and white. – Feb 14, 2009

I’m enjoying the Lanvin Spring Summer 2009 Ad Campaign. The clothing is beautiful of course, that goes without saying. I’m loving the whole “cheekily playing in your large changroom before it’s time to go out” vibe that is happening in this campaign. I usually don’t find depictions of narcissism that attractive, but I think the mirror loving Iselin works very, very well.
Yup, it’s a Meisel joint.
