i want: Knits by Sacai

Knits by Sacai.

I’ve been turned onto Sacai recently. Abe Chitose worked at Comme des Garçons and Junya Watanabe for 10 years before starting Sacai in 1999. Her knitwear is amazing. Holt Renfrew carries the line and you should really go into the Bloor street store to and check the stuff out, especially if you haven’t had the pleasure of looking at Japanese design up close. I’m in love with the above cardigan, it’s all about the collar and shoulder. The one that Holt’s carries had burgundy in the ruffles.

This season was all about the ruffle and it was incorporated throughout the collection.

i got…

A vintage dress from Stella Luna

IMGP0063

I fell in love immediately when I saw this dress. It has a bit of a cocoon shape which you can’t see in the photos. The back detail is interesting too. Oh and it’s linen, perfect for summer. That’s my cat Sagan there. 🙂

geekiviews: J.R. Watkins Vanilla Dry Oil Body Mist

My good friends at Brill Communications have provided me with J.R. Watkins Vanilla Dry Oil Body Mist

You might remember my last run in J.R. Watkins. I received a sampler pack and had positive things to say.

This is what the website has to say about the product.

Watkins has always been known for outstanding vanilla products. Now, the calming aroma of natural vanilla is used to enhance a truly special line of body care products with skin-softening moisturizers and an exclusive blend of essential oils. This rich, moisturizing spray leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. Apricot kernel oil and vitamin E nourish skin with essential lipids and nutrients—and because the oil is quickly absorbed by the skin, it leaves a dry yet soft feel. With our exclusive vanilla fragrance.

I was skeptical of this product. I don’t like body oils, they always leave you greasy and I really don’t want any of that stuff all over my clothes. When it arrived I wasn’t sure I would use it and it sat around for awhile. One day, when coming out of the shower, I grabbed it from the shelf and started to spray. You are suppose to spray it on when you skin is damp.

The vanilla scent is pleasant and not overpowering. You would basically have to grab me and start rubbing your nose all over my skin to smell the vanilla. I like that, like perfume, the scent should only be detectable by a person very close to you. It’s a natural smelling, super bonus! It wasn’t greasy, super, super bonus. You didn’t need a lot of oil to get good coverage. The dispenser is great and makes it a lot easier to use.

There are 3 other scents, Aloe & Green Tea, Citrus & Chamomile and Lavender(yay!). The 120ml bottle retails for $10.99. I haven’t really put a dent in mine yet and I’ve been using it for a few weeks now.
