My favourite watch company, ToyWatch, has teamed up with Missoni to launch a limited edition collection called “ToyWatch dressed by Missoni”. There are only 250 of each style produced and a few select retailers in Canada will sell these items in December. They retail for $540CAD. The retailers are: BlueBird in Vancouver, Abe & Mary’s in Montreal, Hudson’s Bay Queen Street in Toronto, Cupido in Toronto and Sophie Cosmetics & Accessories in Richmond Hill.

ToyWatch watches dressed by Missoni are produced in a limited edition: six models, with three colors each, proposed with the funny foulard strap or with the more classic fabric strap with leather buckles. Only 250 pieces per model!

The bond between the marks is visible also on the packaging: a stylish black box – ToyWatch’s distinguishing feature – containing a reel symbolizing the colorful yarns used by the Missoni maison. Instead of the thread, the watchstrap is wound around the reel.

“This Toywatch is wound and knotted around the wrist like a band, symbolically combining with knit fabrics and textiles, distinctive prints and patterns. It’s a Toywatch that becomes soft, exchangeable, customizable, and I designed it drawing inspiration from the scarf, a key accessory of Missoni fashion. The colorful, free and natural identity of the brand is here epitomized, where the ways of dressing and being almost overlap” – says Angela Missoni.

“We are really pleased to announce this co-branding initiative between Missoni and ToyWatch; it’s fashion meeting fashion” says Mara Poletti Vice President of ToyWatch. “Restyling existing materials and fabrics to create something new and original, something absolutely exclusive, is part of ToyWatch’s DNA; being able to do this with Missoni, a maison representing Italian excellence in fashion and creativeness, is a real honor for us” .

The watches really aren’t my style but I am very curious how they look on someone’s arm. The photos aren’t good for showing how big they are.

Mikhael Kale Spring Summer 2011

I take everything I said about the Mihael Kale spring summer 2011 collection back. His clothing is all about the woman wearing it and I’ve seen it done very well.  All I know the models during LGFW didn’t wear his clothing to it’s fullest potential.

Mikhael and his team created the encrusted shoes for the lookbook which was shot by Felix Wong.

I’m a big fan of Dandi Maestre’s jewellery. She also has the best lookbooks in the business. They are always so colourful and do a great job of photographing the jewellery. The styling is always perfect and the tribal influence matches perfectly with her organic looking line.

Dennis Merotto Spring Summer 2011

Dennis Merotto Spring Summer 2011

This is the debut collection for Toronto designer, Dennis Merotto. He has been working in the industry for 25 years and is currently the former Senior Designer at Lida Baday. I’m liking this minimal collection.  It reminds me a lot of Celine, which isn’t a bad thing.

Dennis Merotto Spring Summer 2011

Merotto’s spring summer 2011 collection is an amalgamation of his many years of experience noticing what women really want and his rejection of the current fascination with fast fashion. He embraces the beauty found in the small details and the often painstaking process of executing well crafted and superbly constructed clothing. His debut collection is a tour de force of subtle yet casual refinement. Complexity is expressed in his love of opposite pairings of masculine with feminine, hard with soft, and light against dark. Textural fabrics, a simplified palette and his signature languid silhouette enhance the feminine form.

Hudson’s Bay x Colette

Hudson's Bay x Colette

Colette is selling a few select items from The Hudson’s Bay online.

For 340 years, this company has been warming up adventurers, first those under the English crown and then North Americans. Known and loved for its four lines of distinctive colors (blue, yellow, red and green), Hudson Bay is now crossing the Seine to arrive at colette

You can get a cashmere hot water bottle, cashmere scarf, a mug by Geoff McFedtridge and an adorable Snowman kit that includes a scarf, a plastic carrot, 2 buttons and a pipe.  My favourite item is the mug, so adorable.
