I like the Givenchy Fall Winter 2011 – 2012 Ad Campaign and I don’t. I love that Mariacarla Boscono and Naomi Campbell are participating but the expressions in the photos seem a little forced. I’m usually a Givenchy die hard but the fall winter 2011 – 2012 season wasn’t appealing to me. Doesn’t make much sense since I usually love cat imagery. The men’s campaign is better executed. My favourite ad campaign of the fall winter 2011 – 2012 season is Lanvin. There is something about the symmetry and movement in these shots that makes me smile. Raquel Zimmermann and Karen Elson are fantastic models and are some of my favourites. Of course the fall winter 2011 – 2012 collection from Lanvin is gorgeous. Prada Spring Summer 2011 Video Ad Campaign

I’m obsessed over this Prada Spring Summer 2011 Video Ad Campaign. I’m drinking the Prada koolaid very hard this year. The print ads were just so beautiful and now they’ve come up with this drool worthy video. How can I not love this campaign. It’s got of my favourite models, Kinga Rajzak and Mariacarla Boscono dancing around with Josephine Baker hair. I’m also loving Arizona Muse. Check out the behind the scenes video of the campaign. This is textbook example of what draws me to Prada. I want everything in the collection, even the coloured fur stoles. It’s great to be excited for Prada again. The new Yves Saint Laurent Spring Summer 2011 Ad Campaign was shot in the gardens of the 30s, Villa Bled Roknine in Marrakech Palmeraie. Daria is out and Arizona Muse is in. I really like her look. Greta Constantine Fall Winter 2010 Campaign Starring Tara Gill

During the summer I was invited to the Greta Constantine Fall Winter 2010 campaign photoshoot. It was all hush, hush and I couldn’t release any photos till after the official launch. The campaign stars the lovely Tara Gill and was shot by Gabor Jurina. I got photos and videos of the backstage goings on. I got a couple good shots of Tara myself. She’s a beautiful woman. The Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 ad campaign for Hermès is a lot darker than Spring Summer 2010 which was fairytale like.  The Avengers theme from the runway show goes hand in hand with these photos.  It’s like the lovely spy who is decked head to toe in Hermès makes her getaway with her SO Black Kelly.  She just can’t leave her wardrobe so she gets  her kindly old mentor to have them moved to her safe house by carriage.  Of course, this generous act will result in his death.  Yada, yada, yada.  I should write screenplays.  Ha This is the SO Black Kelly that baghounds have been salivating over. I liked the Proenza Schouler Fall Winter 2010 collection. I didn’t care much for the shoes and I don’t care much for the ad campaign. The girls are too thin and it’s distracting. The Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 ad campaign from Givenchy is totally amazing. I love the colour and composition. The cast of models is what makes this so much fun. Yay for the diverse group.  Of course I’m happy because Mariacarla Boscono is making an appearance too. I really like the Prada Menswear Spring Summer 2010 Ad Campaign. The images tie into the short film Prada created with Chinese artist Yang Fudong. Featuring young men gathered in Shanghai, dressed in Prada meanswear, the black and white film portrays a timeless, dreamlike realm where anything is possible. RIP Phi

One of my favourite labels Phi is shutting down. Their amazing Spring 2010 collection never went into production. When I’m in Holt Renfrew I look at the final few pieces of Phi and mourn a little. It seemed they were just hitting their stride. For the last few seasons, Phi had been pumping out some drool worthy collections. Seeing this Phi Fall 2009 ad campaign by Steven Meisel prompted me to write this post. Not only did Phi have great clothing, I loved the ad campaigns. Phi Fall 2009 featured my fav, Sasha. Phi was one of the shows I saw in NYC at fashion week. It was my first viewing of the super popular models of Spring 2009 like Sasha P, Freja, Kinga, Irina, Hye, Suvi and Natasha. I was in awe of these people. It was then I learned that my instinct not to compare myself to these people was correct.
