I wrote about the Fashion House From Runway to Hallway preview in the summer of 2009. I’ve discovered some videos of the designers talking about the project.

Eleven of Canada’s premier fashion designers have added their personal touches to the floors of Fashion House and will be on hand to toast Toronto’s first, award-winning fashion / condo project. This is your chance to mix, mingle and immerse yourself in all that is made-to-measure and ready to dwell. Fashion House – impeccable style from the inside, out.
Lots of changes are going down at Andy Thê-Anh. He’s moving his Yorkville store from 83 Yorkville Avenue 27 Bellair Street. He’s also heading north and Bayview Village location has been added at 2901 Bayview Avenue.
In addition to the new stores, Andy had re-branded.
Why Andy Thê-Anh is launching a new visual identity?
For the brand, it will mark a new milestone: we want to embrace our past, but look to the future. Our new identity will enable us to continue positioning ourselves in the high-end market and
have a visual look that matches our growth ambitions. It is also important for us to have a logo that doesn’t necessarily need our brand name to identify our collection and our accessories in
the eye of the public.
What is the image you want to convey with that new identity?
Our new identity will mirror the high-end, sophisticated image of Andy Thê-Anh’s creations. It is important at this stage in our development to have symbols and colors that identify us clearly
and that people can clearly associate with us. At this stage in our company development, symbols and colors that distinguish our identity clearly and that clients and the public can clearly associate with us is of utmost importance to the brand
Here are some sneak peak images of the Fall 2010 Andy The-Anh.
Andy Thê-Anh FW10 Preview
I like the new branding, it’s very clean looking. It will be interesting to see the stores and how they are set up in order to convey this new image for Andy Thê-Anh. Most of all, I can’t wait to see more for Fall 2010 from Andy.
I attended the Bijouxbead Holiday 2009 Interactive Pop Up Show Community Reception to get a look at the collection of necklaces influenced by Canadian Designers
David Dixon
The show will kick off with a unique interactive display of eight one of a kind necklaces, all of which happen to be eight stranded, designed to pay homage to eight Canadian Fashion Designers.
Evan Biddell
Paul Hardy
Each piece was a thrill to design; I studied these designer’s spring summer 2010 collections at great length, that were shown at Toronto’s LG Fashion Week. I came up with colour, texture and scale for these pieces based on my interpretation of the clothing in their collections that were most notable to me.

Andy The Anh
Unlike my previous collections, this collection is exclusively glass, crystal and sterling -a big departure for me. All together, I incorporated over thirteen thousand six hundred pieces of glass and two thousand four hundred pieces of crystal into these eight necklaces.

Also, for the first time in Bijouxbead history, I will be introducing crystal and sterling earrings. Over thirty colours will be represented.
There was a necklace dedicated to Jason Meyers, but it was sold before I arrived.

It was no way to view a show. There were hundreds of us packed into the Showroom at LG Fashion Week. We were here to see Andy The Anh. I wasn’t sure how anyone was going to see anything, it was packed like sardines. People were angry. I was angry.
I saw a little bit of the show. Some things looked pretty nice. It was very body con with a colour palette of blue, black, grey and white.
The showroom as a venue for a show wasn’t optimal for Andy The Anh. It would have been nice with a much smaller guest list or a static presentation.
Fashion House is a condo building that is located around Brand and King Street West. It has housed a couple fashion parties in the past. They asked 11 Canadian designers to create interiors for the floors of the building.

The party was a mix of designers, media, Holt Renfrew staff, unit owners and developer friends. The Holt Renfrew connection is through the Unit Holder contest. If you buy a unit you have a chance to win a $100,000 shopping spree at Holt Renfrew. That’s some serious coin to go through.
I loved Andy Thê-Anh board. The dress is made from wood. It’s beautiful.

I’m very intrigued by Jeremy’s print choice.

I felt that Dean Davidson, Jay Godfrey, Jenny Bird and Greta Constantine boards were the most clear. Many of the others were very conceptual and I couldn’t get my head around how it would translate. I felt all the boards needed some labeling. It was hard to figure out whose was who and it was only after talking to some of the designers I figured it out.
The best part of the night was when Yasmine Warsame introduced herself and her son to me. I was in total shock! She’s amazing.
Check out the slideshow, I have some more photos of the designer boards.
I took the The Grumpy Owl to the Andy The-Anh runway show at LG Fashion Week. He making films so he brought along his trusty camera and this is the result of the evening.
