i want: Crepe Gowns by Stella McCartney

Leave it to Stella McCartney make these great minimal colour blocked gowns. The design is simple and made showstopping via colour, silk and velvet Brigitte Colour-Block Crepe Gown Floor Length Stretch Crepe Dress is my favourite. Like I said about the Simone Rocha coat, I love perfect pink things. Colour-Block Crepe Gown images: mytheresa.com

i want: Alias Gown by Mary Katrantzou

The Mary Katrantzou Spring Summer 2013 collection took stamps and money gave it the Katrantzou spin. It was one of my favourite collections from the season. This Alias Gown looks like pretty foreign currency. What country it’s based on, I have no idea. The gown is a stretch jersey so I bet it fits like a dream. As everything that is gorgeous, it costs a fortune, $2,495USD at Barney’s. You can find Mary Katrantzou in Canada at The Room @ The Bay. images: lyst.com

i want: Jersey Grecian-draped Gown by Donna Karan

I’m still keeping my eye out for beautiful gowns. Donna Karan does great Grecian style gowns. The front slit and back detail make the very sexy without going too far over the top.  It’s also made of a fabric called cupro.  It was new to me so I looked it up. Cupro – The European cousin of tencel , Cupro is also somewhat similar to rayon in that it is reprocessed cellulose. Like tencel and rayon, the base material for cupro is a regenerated cellulose fiber . Cupro gets its name from cuprammonium, the process that is used to process the wood pulp or cotton linters that are its base material. In this process, the wood pulp or cotton liners are dissolved in an ammoniac copper oxide solution. Cupro fabric breathes like cotton, drapes beautifully, and feels like silk on your skin. Its slinky, curve-hugging drape makes it great for elegant dresses and blouses.(source: answers.com) Donna Karan is available at Holt Renfrew. images: net-a-porter.com
