Fit-in-15 – It’s a wrap

The Fit-in-15 campaign is now over from a blogging standpoint but increasing your activity shouldn’t end with me. I’ll continue my daily tricks to keep active and I hope you will too. To refresh your memory. I’ve been called out for a challenge. The Fit-in 15 campaign is about building awareness to bring physical activity into your daily life. Most people have a hard time starting up a heavy routine at the gym and think that’s the only way to be active. Its just not true, adding as little as 15 minutes of activity a day can yield health benefits. Active living is a lifestyle, you need to incorporate activities that fit your schedule and stick to them. Start out small and increase. The main key is REPETITION. Get it stuck in your brain so you don’t even think of it. There are many things you can do and I’m going to talk about the things I do daily over the course of the next week. Fit-in-15 Quick Tips Part 2

Looking for easy ways to get Fit-in-15. Here are a few more tips to help you add 15 minutes of activity to your day. See the first group of tips here. Kids. Parents, you have an excuse to get active just sitting there. Your children. Go outside and throw a baseball, shoot some basketball or kick the soccer ball around. Take a relaxing bike ride with the family or a nice after dinner walk with the family. If your kids are active, think about joining them. I attend a lot of events. When they are close to each other it’s easy to take the 15 – 20 minutes to walk to the next party. This helps if you are drunk too. Gives you some time to sober up 🙂 Heading to the beach for some relaxation. Bring a frisbee and toss it around. It could be with friends or your dog. Stairs, stairs, stairs. I’m a stairs junky. Fit-in-15 Quick Tips

Looking for easy ways to get Fit-in-15. Here are a few tips to help you add 15 minutes of activity to your day. Take a walk after lunch. This is easy when it’s nice outside, like today. Alternatives for PATH dwellers like myself is to take stroll in our underground. Get to know it. Take a walk to lunch. During the summer I walk down to St. Lawrence Market. It’s an enjoyable way to add 15. Do you have a dog? Instead of just going around the block, take a bit more time. You and your dog will be thankful. Dance in your living room. I do this all the time and I’m sure many of you do to. Put on a mix of your dancing songs and work it out. Here is someone who should get your dancing inspiration going.
