i want: Aldo Rise x Preen Buito High Heel Sandal

I’m a big fan of the Aldo Rise collections and I’m a huge fan of Preen. So when these two get together, I get a little giddy. For Spring Summer 2013 Preen and Aldo released three styles of shoes with two different colourways per style. I’ve already picked up the Musilova style which has a pointy toe, asymmetrical vamp and ankle strap. It’s in a bone colour and the leather has some texture to it. I’m also a big fan of the Preen x Aldo Rise Buito Sandal. It wasn’t available when I purchased the Musilova thankfully because I would have walked out the door with both. All the styles from the Aldo Rise x Preen collection are $155 and can be found online at aldoshoes.com or in select Aldo Stores like Eaton Centre. images: aldoshoes.com

i want: Blair Dress by Preen

Every wardrobe needs a red dress in my opinion. The Blair dress by Preen is the perfect shade of red and features my favourite “New Look” silhouette. Preen keeps it simple with a leopard jacquard trim on the neck and back. You can get this dress on Moda Operandi, it ships now. images: modaoperandi.com

i want: Fountain Dress by Preen Line

Preen Line is the diffusion line to Preen offering clothing at prices that still aren’t the most affordable. It doesn’t stop me from loving the designers though. The Fountain Ruffled Jersey dress is exclusive to Net-a-Porter and it’s a re-issue of their best selling Fountain dress in a neon green and charcoal colourway. I love the pop of neon on the back of this dress. Unexpected but definitely not forgotten. Preen Line can also be found in Toronto at Rac Boutique. images: net-a-porter.com

I want – I got Holiday Gift Guide – Part 4

So, part 1, part 2 and part 3 of the I want – I got Gift Guide Series are complete now it’s for the final installment, Part four. This is the part four of four in the I want – I got Gift Guide series. I have so many favourite things I wanted to include. This gift guide is very much I want – I got. You’ll see things I want, things I got and other obsessions. Some things are affordable and some aren’t but I’ve tried to mix it up. The list covers fashion, beauty, electronics, art, toys and booze. Basically, all the items on the gift guide are I want – I got approved. So, here is the last part of this exploration of things I would love to see under my tree at Christmas. I hope you had as much fun as I did exploring my Christmas wants. Preen Resort 2013

As always, I’m drooling over another collection from the British Duo, Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi of Preen. The Resort 2013 collection is inspired by florals, sport and paintings from Jeff Koons. “There are hydrangeas, poppies, gerberas, chrysanthemums, which we love,” said Thornton. “But we wanted to do something nontraditional with them. So we started looking at Jeff Koons’s paintings with all those super-bright pop colors and brushstrokes dragged across them. And Nick Knight’s photos of flowers.” “Sport is the other thing that went into it, I suppose,” Bregazzi said. “The idea of combining the patterns with tracksuits, sweatshirts, and bombers.” Have the London Olympics been working their way into their heads, then? Thornton laughed, “Well, maybe without us really thinking about it. We’ve just always liked that sporty minimalism of the nineties.” (source) I love the contrast of dark lines, solid colours and sharp angles to the colourful florals. There a few retailers carrying Preen in Canada: Rac Boutique and Ssense.com. images: thefashionspot.com

I want – I got’s ALDO Rise Spring Summer 2012 Top Picks

Aldo partnered with six designers for the Spring Summer 2012 collections. The collaboration was nameless previously but now it has a name, Aldo Rise. Participating for Spring Summer 2012 is JW Anderson, Preen, Faster Mark Fast, Libertine, Christian Cota and Cushnie et Ochs. Aldo created a great tumblr blog for the collection and enlisted the help of  Tommy Ton and The Coveteur to take lots of photos during fashion week. They captured a  lot of great images to see and the Aldo Rise Tumblr archive is a good place to start. I’m a big fan of the collection.  Here are my top picks.  It’s going to be hard to decide which pairs to pick up. Preen Resort 2012

Preen Resort 2012 is the stuff that dreams are made of. I’m truly, madly and deeply in love with what Justin Thorton and Thea Bregazzi have got going on for this resort season. The collection has loose Japan references influenced by a kimono Thea bought many years ago. The Preen Resort 2012 collection can be pre-order till June 22, 2011 on Moda Operandi. Their collection photos are amazing, check it out before they are gone. images: vogue.com

Preen Fall Winter 2011 – 2012

Preen fall winter 2011 – 2012 is so good. Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi were influenced by Diana Vreeland for the silhouette and the Northern California Arts and Crafts movement for the prints. All the crystal and metal beading was done by hand in India (I wonder what the label will say). I love that designers aren’t backing away from colour or prints this season. Preen Pre-Fall 2011

I’m loving that Preen is using the 20s drop waist silhouette for the Pre-fall 2011 collection. The 20s is one of my favourite fashion eras and I’m glad to see a modern take on this silhouette. images: thefashionspot.com
