i got Hello Kitty On The Prowl Nail Lacquer

Hello Kitty On the Prowl Nail Lacquer by M·A·C Cosmetics I didn’t think much of the Hello Kitty line from M·A·C until I met someone wearing the On the Prowl Nail Lacquer. It was grey and matched my Oakley sunglasses perfectly. I had to have some. I received some tips from M·A·C insiders that told me that it’s selling out quick and to get my but to a store. I was successful in my attempt. I would call ahead nearest M·A·C store to check availability if you are still looking. Limited edition shades of Nail Lacquer in a bottle featuring Hello Kitty and M∙A∙C and Hello Kitty logos. The promotional video for the line is interesting. Gotta love half naked men with Hello Kitty Heads.

i got: A CDN Spirit Down Jacket

It was starting to get cold in Toronto and I needed a puffy down jacket. I have a lot of wool jackets that require way too many layers in the winter. I wanted a jacket that I could wear without a lot of layers. My ski jacket is down, but it’s not long enough. It happened to be Buy Local Week when I started to I decided that I would buy a Canadian made jacket. My choices were slim, Canada Goose or CDN Spirit. I decided on the Cdn Spirit because Canada Goose is just too expensive, double the price. I’m very, very happy with my purchase. The jacket is super warm and the fleece cuffs are a nice touch and keeps the wind from blowing up my sleeves. Cdn Spirit is carried by Sporting Life and Holly’s Fashions. I got mine at the Holly’s Fashion shop in the TD Centre. The picture isn’t the best because I’m pretty lazy right now and can’t be bothered to take one.

i got: Ash Lenny Boot

Ash ‘Lenny’ Boot My pair of dependable black heeled boots failed in November sometime. The heel started to bend in the opposite direction and walking was not fun. It was time to replace them. They had a good run, almost 2 years I think. I wore the hell out of them too. The decision to get the Ash ‘Lenny’ Boot wasn’t a straight path. I first bought a pair of boots from B2, they weren’t perfect but they worked. Then in the same weekend I saw the Ash ones at Holt Renfrew. It was friends and family weekend too and I had 25% off. So, I bought the Ash boots, which ended up being cheaper than the ones from B2. I returned the other boots to B2 when I returned to work on Monday. I should have looked at Holt’s first for boots; they do have some mid range boots that aren’t ridiculously expensive.

Adventures in Moonrox – One of a Kind Edition

So I worked the Moonrox booth at the One of a Kind Show this past Saturday. I’ve always thought of myself as a piss poor salesperson. When it comes down to it a salesperson has to like people and I’ve never been a big fan of people. However to my surprise I was a selling machine that day. I also managed to score some jewelry in the process. MJ picked this necklace out for me before I even arrived. He knows my style so very well and even told Monique (MoonRox designer) that I would totally buy it. He was right. I was telling people that this necklace is right on trend for Spring 2009 and most gave me a blank look. If you’ve been to the One of a Kind Show, you’ll understand. I have always loved the MoonRox Charm bracelets. They are chunky, loud and colourful. I think they are the perfect addition to a LBD ensemble. MoonRox is in booth Y-4 and will be at the One of a Kind show till …

i got: Oakley Frogskins Re-release Sunglasses

Oakley Frogskins Re-release Sunglasses I had a pair of Frogskins in 1987, I loved them to death. I thought they were the coolest thing ever. They got scratched and then lost. They came back into my life in 2007 when Oakley decided to bring them back from the dead. I have to admit, I’m loving them to death all over again. Be a part of our history with a new spin on a pop culture classic, the Oakley Frogskin®! At Oakley, we’ve spent decades creating original works of art that reinvent both technology and style. To celebrate the rich history of our brand, we decided to re-release a ground-breaking style that can be traced back more than twenty years to our “garage” company roots. First introduced in 1985 and originally available in over 50 colors, the Oakley Frogskin was a part of the 80’s pop culture, a time like no other. Ronald Reagan was in the White House. “The Terminator” was in the box office and Run-D.M.C. was in certified gold. We have resurrected the …

i got: A vintage beaded bag

A vintage beaded bag This was one of my purchases in Montreal as I was told to hit up the vintage shops. I’ve been looking for a small, clutch like bag that can fit my Smartphone (Blackberry now) and my camera. This does both and is pretty, yay! This was purchased at Friperie St-Laurent, 3976, boulevard Saint-Laurent.

i got: A Jacket by Etro

A jacket from Etro One of my amazing consignment finds. 50 bucks! Retail value at the time, $1595 (the original price tag was in the pocket). It’s a beautiful jacket that MJ kept pestering me to buy when it was priced higher. I’m not sure what season it’s from. If anyone can place it, let me know in the comments. This picture was taken in Montreal in my hotel room at the Armor Manoir Sherbrooke. I loved the look of the photo so I needed an excuse to use the image in a blog post.

i got: Marvel 360 by Darryl Graham

I nerded out and bought a print by a local artist, Darryl Graham. He’s drawn 360 Marvel characters. Everyone is there: Xavier, Magneto, The Sentinels, Cyclops, Gambit, Wolverine, etc. It’s really cool, I can’t wait for it to arrive in my mailbox. Darryl is very good. I fell in love with the print immediately. Click this link to see the a larger version. I emailed Darryl directly to order the print and I asked for permission to use the smaller version of the image for this post. He called me awesomely sweet and that made me Internet blush! I’m Internet crushing on him now. Thanks Darryl!

i got: Ipanema Gisele Bundchen sandal

Ipanema Gisele Bundchen sandal I always thought of the advertising campaigns and not the product with Gisele’s shoe company here. However, I saw some and thought there were cute. Surprisingly comfortable sandal and I use them a lot when walking to and from the office. I wore them to see Dark Knight in IMAX Saturday morning at 8:30am. They were perfect for standing in line at 7:30am with the rest of the geeks. The only thing I don’t like is the crystals embedded into the strap. I got these at Stoneridge in the Eaton Center. I think they were $25.

i got: Earnest Sewn Harlan denim in Greaser Black wash.

Earnest Sewn Harlan denim in Greaser Black wash. I’ve been looking for another pair of skinny jeans. The pair I bought from Lucky Brand is starting to fall apart. I was in Winners and found these perfect fitting Earnest Sewns for $16.00. That’s right, SIXTEEN DOLLARS. This is almost a good as the deal I got on a Chloe dress. Sometimes Winners is amazing.

i got…

Petit flock earrings by Petitsbijoux The Mother of pearl birds were so cute I had to have these. Petitsbijoux is a local Esty user so I got my earrings super quick. I loved the packaging and the presentation. image: etsy.com

i got: electric blue mascara from Cargo Cosmetics

I don’t wear much makeup but I really love mascara. I picked up some electric blue mascara from Cargo Cosmetics today at Sephora. It’s easy to spend a ton of time in that store and I don’t even know how to use most of the stuff in the place. The blue shows up well this one. I’ve tried others where the lashes look black. EDIT: I’ve added a photo of me wearing the stuff. The blue pops eh!

i got…

Fashionista talked about these cheap Old Navy sandals in the post called Our New Solemate. I was intirguied but didn’t search them out. I was in Old Navy last week and found the last pair of 8s sitting around for 10 bucks. I couldn’t resist, they are pretty cute. image: oldnavy.com

i got: Asus Eee PC

Eee PC 2G Surf I love my little new toy. It’s not a laptop but a mobile internet device. It’s the size of a tradepaperback, weights about a kilogram and I’m in love. I was debating about getting a laptop, but I haven’t been jazzed up about laptops since Apple put out 12″ ones, they were sweet. I didn’t want to buy a used mac so I decided to evaluate what I really would use the thing for. Can you guess? That’s right, mobile blogging and general keeping up with email. I realized that I just wanted to be able to browse the internet, blog and check email. I started to research my options and saw the Eee PC around a lot. The price is awesome, the comes in a range of colours and the size is perfect. It runs a GUI version of Linux. I’ve only really used Linux in a terminal and the GUI version is like any other GUI based OS, like Windows or Leopard. You basically just plug the thing in …

i got: Rick Owens Funnel Neck Jacket

Now or Never has been very good to me this season (It’s over for this season people). I managed to get this Rick Owens Funnel Neck Jacket for 75% off. It was the last one on the rack and it fit perfectly. I was in love. Initially, I walked away from the jacket and left the store, but I kept talking about it which was driving MJ nuts. I couldn’t get it out of my mind. A la Trent Reznor, it kept calling me, kept on calling me! So, I went back and the rest is history. Afterwards, MJ informed me that this jacket sold out completely, everywhere. This jacket fits amazing. The arms are a very slim cut but they are lined in silk so that it’s easy to put it on. The underside of the arms is made from a knit material which also adds to the sleekness of the arm. The double collar is drool worthy and I love how high it stands up. It’s like urban armour and I can block …

i got: Goffredo Fantini boots

Goffredo Fantini boots Since the beginning of the fall I’ve been obsessed with finding a knee high pair of flat, black boots. I looked all over, most of the perfect boots I saw were out of my price range (damn you Prada). Others were just plain ugly. I thought a pair of Miss Sixty boots were going to be my savior, but then I tried them on and they sucked. On the urging of a friend, I decided to check out Zola Shoes. I had been at Zola before the Xmas rush and they didn’t have my size in the shoes I liked. However, this time it was love at first sight when I saw these. They aren’t quite flat, but the hardware on the shaft of the boot is killer.
