askageeklogo.jpgSometimes readers ask me questions. If they are of value to all my readers I post them online. If you have a question, please feel free to submit it using the contact form. I’ll definitely do my best to answer it.

I want I got reader Alex wrote:

Hello,

My name is Alex Cierpicki and I am a Casting Assistant for a company called Magee TV. We produce a variety of shows for Slice, HGTV and W Networks. I am contacting you because we are on the search for a host for a new show we are developing called “Stuff”. Our closets, our bathrooms even our purses are crammed with… well, stuff. There’s stuff we don’t use, and stuff we use a
lot, and even some stuff we’ve never been quite sure what to do with – and now we’re looking for some clever hosts to tell us just what to do with it all.

Who we’re looking for:

A Super Shopper who knows when to save and when to splurge. Our ideal candidate is someone who can break down the seasoning behind the purchases we make, and guide our viewers to savvy choices with their spending money.

A Clever Craftsperson who knows what can be used (and used again). Our ideal candidate is a Macgyver, taking everyday objects and repurposing them to even better use. We’re looking for someone who can do-it-themselves, and show us how to do it too.

A Dexterous Designer who knows how to make the most out of the things we already have, and when it’s time to let items go. Our ideal candidate can rearrange the most mundane of atmospheres and bring them to life, showing the viewers simple tricks to make the most of the purchases we’ve made, and what other buys will compliment our décor.

We thought you would be an excellent resource to get us in touch with people who might be interested in auditioning. Is there a way to get this job posting out to people such as yourself? I have attached the casting call to this email and you can also check out our company’s website, www.mageetv.com

Hi Alex, like I did for Sonya, I’ll post the details of this hosting position and maybe one of our readers has the stuff. Again, I’m not a big fan of television.

Could you win a gold medal in the Olympics of shopping? Could you build an armoire out of a flashlight and some gum? Can you make magazine worthy spaces out of garage sale finds?

Magee TV, the producers of So Chic, Design Rivals and The Smart Woman Survival Guide are developing a new lifestyle show all about stuff . Our closets, our bathrooms even our purses are crammed with well, stuff. There’s stuff we don’t use, and stuff we use a lot, and even some stuff we’ve never been quite sure what to do with – and now we’re looking for some clever hosts to tell us just what to do with it all .

Who we’re looking for:

If you know how to buy the best new stuff, get rid of the bad news stuff, or recycle, repurpose, and redesign the old stuff we already have, we’ve got the perfect showcase for you.

Please send us a description of yourself including but not limited to, on-air experience, photos and contact info along with a brief write-up telling us about yourself and why you would be the perfect person to help viewers tackle their mountains of stuff. Deadline for application is Wednesday, September 26th . Applications will be accepted either via email to info@mageetv.com or mail to:
