Balenciaga Ready to Wear – Spring 2009

At first look, I wasn’t into the Balenciaga Spring collection. I’ve looked at the collection again and seen the details. I’m now a fan. Nicolas Ghesquière has gone heavy on the Sci-Fi and I love him for it. It’s not quite like Spring 2007, my dream Balenciaga collection, but it’ll do. I’m going to name the shoes The Tron Shoes. I can’t say I would wear them, but they intrigue me because of their construction. It’s more than a sock over some shoes. images: www.thefashionspot.com, style.it

i want…

I found Paraphernalia jewelry through the i heart Luxe newsletter. I was instantly hooked. Sleuth Typewriter Necklace We at Paraphernalia design beauteous and wholesome accoutrements for both Ladies and Gentlemen. We are much inspired by both vintage illustrations and 19th century magicians. We also enjoy the odd, the unusual, the uncanny and the bizarre, in all the aspects of beauty. Everything is handmade by Ms. Vanda in her studio in Manchester, United Kingdom, using vintage illustrations, printed and cut acrylic, and silver-plated findings. We strive to provide extraordinary, beautifully original pieces at affordable prices, so that you may embellish yourself with merely a pittance. Versace Ready to Wear – Spring 2009

I’ve been quietly drinking the Donatella koolaid for the past few seasons. I can’t get over how much I like the work that is coming out of that house right now. Some larger photos for you to examine, clicky click! See the rest of the collection at the Fashion Spot – Versace S/S 09 Milan images: thefashionspot, frillr.com

Montreal 2008 – Yves Saint Laurent Love

There was no photography at the Yves Saint Laurent exhibit so I never felt that compelled to blog about it immediately. I did purchase something hilarious though, a YSL paper doll book called Yves St. Laurent Fashion Reviewby Tom Tierney (I just discovered some of his other books, OMG!!!!!). I really regret not buying 2 copies, just so I could cut up one. images: scans by me and mmfa.qc.ca
