i want: Octopus Necklaces by Lost Apostle

A few weeks ago, I went to an event for Etsy Canada. We were introduced to some of Etsy’s biggest Canadian partners and talked about their Affiliate program. I received a personalized gift bag at the end of it. It was curated with me in mind and featured some designers the Etsy folks we up my alley. That’s how I discovered Lost Apostle. Lost Apostle is based in Montreal and creates bronze and silver jewellery for the person who doesn’t want something dainty and feminine. We are talking animal skulls, anatomical hearts, flying picks, syringes, feathers and hand grenades. I received the Human Skull necklace in bronze from the Etsy Canada gift bag but I’m kinda obsessed with Lost Apostle’s Octopus pendants. They come in Silver and Bronze and there is also a choice of leather straps instead of gunmetal. Too adorable. If that isn’t enough, there are Lost Apostle Octopus earrings to match. I’m dying. Lost Apostle is pretty affordable also with prices starting around $30 and going up to $300. The Octopus necklaces …

Christian Dior Secret Garden – Versailles Videos

Met my fashion kryptonite with Dior using Depeche Mode as the music for their Secret Garden – Versailles video series. May 2012 – Secret Garden – Versailles A film by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, starring Daria Strokus, Melissa Stasiuk and Xiao Wen Ju in La Galeries Des Glaces – Château de Versailles. Depeche Mode: ‘Enjoy the Silence’ June 2013 – Secret Garden – Versailles The Château de Versailles, emblem of Dior’s tradition, hosts a new tale which brings to life the Dior Fall 2013 collection. The chateau and its park abound with well-kept secrets. The heart of the royal land conceals an extraordinary world of poetry and color: in the depth of its mysterious woods a secret garden blooms out of sight, inhabited by flower-women. From the Grand Trianon to the enchanted forest, Versailles becomes the picturesque backdrop of a dreamlike tale. Depeche Mode – Behind the Wheel

Christian Dior Fall Winter 2013 – 2014 Ad Campaign

I’m lucky this season for my favourite models headlining campaigns this season. Mariacarla Boscono is one of the stars of the Christian Dior Fall Winter 2013 – 2014 Ad Campaign. I’m not big on the whole campaign so I’ve only included the two I like. Model: Mariacarla Boscono, Daria Strokous Photographer: Willy Vanderperre images: thefashionspot.com

Kenzo Fall – Winter 2013 -2014 Ad Campaign

Kenzo has the early lead in my favourite ad campaign of the Fall – Winter 2013 -2014 season. With Schiaparelli Haute Couture back, it’s nice to more surrealism in fashion. OMG, kitty in a shoe. Love! creative trio Maurizio Cattelan, Micol Talso and Pierpaolo Ferrari behind arts magazine TOILETPAPER for its fall 2013 campaign. Lanvin Fall – Winter 2013 -2014 Ad Campaign

I love all the personalities the model, Edie Campbell takes on for the Lanvin Fall – Winter 2013 -2014 Ad Campaign I love the print campaign. The photos are so rich and each look is a real transformation. I’m not a big fan of the ad campaign video for some reason. I find the campaign works better without the talking and I find the men more interesting than Edie for some reason. This is my favourite image and favourite dress of ones featured. Veuve Clicquot Picnic at the Ritz Carlton

I’m a sucker for any invite from Veuve Clicquot so I was very excited to attend the Veuve Clicquot Picnic at the Ritz Carlton. The party featured food from Chef Bruno Lopez and Veuve Clicquot champagne and cocktails. The Ritz Carlton busted out the Veuve Clicquot glasswear and branding so it was an orange event all around. Even the Veuve Clicquot bicycle made and appearance. It’s so gorgeous. I stuck to Veuve straight up but the Ritz has a number of great looking champagne cocktails. I didn’t drink any but the Spicy Kiwi Crush looked really amazing and delicious. There were Veuve Clicquot nakpins all over. I’m a sucker for excellent branding and Veuve really does it well. And I love, love these little Veuve Clicquot mugs. They aren’t champagne glasses but so much cuter. I brought my friend Noriko with me. She runs the online jewellery site, Kavut.com (It has the most gorgeous jewellery for sale). She’s wearing a lovely Lanvin dress which I called as soon as I saw her. I know my …

Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall – Winter 2013 – 2014

The Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall – Winter 2013 – 2014 collection made me sit up and take notice this year. No it wasn’t because of the clothing, it was the models. The Black Models. Like, finally. Dior has been incredibly lily white since Raf Simons took over. It was a very different to John Galliano’s way of doing things that was a bit more inclusive. Raf isn’t off the hook and I’m not applauding Dior for anything. I’m just happy to look at these beautiful women. Like, Yasmin walked the damn show. That’s awesome. You can watch the Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall – Winter 2013 – 2014 fashion show below. I liked a lot of the clothing too and you can see the rest of the photos for the Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall – Winter 2013 – 2014 collection on Style.com

Schiaparelli Haute Couture by Christian Lacroix Fall – Winter 2013 – 2014

Christian Lacroix kicks off the revival of the House of Schiaparelli with a Haute Couture collection for the Fall Winter 2013 – 2014 season. Every season the House of Schiaparelli will be inviting a different artist to create a Haute Couture collection. These collections aren’t for sale and purely for the love of Couture (and great advertising to boot). There are a couple of videos out that show the collection and interviews with the designer and Schiaparelli spokespeople. The video below is an interview with Christian Lacroix with Suzy Menkes. I think my favourite part of the collection is the hats. Schiaparelli Fall 2013 Couture Collection on Style.com.
