ECCO Spring Summer 2011
I really enjoyed ECCO’s fall winter 2010 season but a lot of that was based around the boot. I wondered what the ECCO team would be up to this spring summer season. Nautical was the theme and blue was a dominate colour. Â I perfered the casual shoes to the sandals. Â ECCO is following trends though and they’ve added clogs. I’m not a clog person but I like the Swedish Hasbeens for some reason. The ECCO clogs are interesting because they’ve created a sole that flexes. Â You can see it in the above photo, it’s the black area. They also introduced a line of bags at a lower price point. ECCO is bringing back their first breakthrough as a company, the Joke shoe from 1978 from a long hiatus. I was instantly reminded of a pair of Mag shoes I have. My favourite watch company, ToyWatch, has teamed up with Missoni to launch a limited edition collection called “ToyWatch dressed by Missoniâ€. There are only 250 of each style produced and a few select retailers in Canada will sell these items in December. They retail for $540CAD. The retailers are: BlueBird in Vancouver, Abe & Mary’s in Montreal, Hudson’s Bay Queen Street in Toronto, Cupido in Toronto and Sophie Cosmetics & Accessories in Richmond Hill. ToyWatch watches dressed by Missoni are produced in a limited edition: six models, with three colors each, proposed with the funny foulard strap or with the more classic fabric strap with leather buckles. Only 250 pieces per model! The bond between the marks is visible also on the packaging: a stylish black box – ToyWatch’s distinguishing feature – containing a reel symbolizing the colorful yarns used by the Missoni maison. I’m a big fan of Dandi Maestre’s jewellery. She also has the best lookbooks in the business. They are always so colourful and do a great job of photographing the jewellery. The styling is always perfect and the tribal influence matches perfectly with her organic looking line.
