I rarely post a full collection but Christian Lacroix was spectacular. He’s turned me around and I’m now a fan. He’s toned down his wild look and taken the core elements for this Pre-Fall 2009 collection. I’m in love with it all. images: the Fashion Spot
So, my LG Canada friends have been keeping me posted about the new Prada phone that debuted at CES this year. I’m always interested in the intersecting world of fashion design and electronics. It looks very slick but there isn’t much in way of specifications right now: Camera 2M CMOS Camera / LED Flash Dimensions 98.8 × 54 × 12 mm Weight 95g Memory External Memory Slot (Micro SD) Standard Battery Innerpack Battery 800mAh USB USB 2.0, USB Mass storage Bluetooth Bluetooth 2.0 Frequency EDGE Tri-Band (900/1800/1900)
One of my peeps at Saks sent me a link to this video they had made for the Alexander Wang Spring 2009 Collection at Saks.com. In this video, Alexander talks about the inspiration for the designs and a model stands there doing what she does best in said design. I find it really interesting as I love to know what the backstory to each piece is. I’m not one to watch a lot video but I think this works for the following reasons: it’s short and the designer is talking about pieces that are available at the retailer which allows it to be more focused and relevant. It gives the consumer more information about the collection and they now know what is available in the store/online shop.
There is something about this campaign for the Phi Spring Summer 2009 collection that I really like. I get a 20s vibe from the setting. For some reason the background colour reminds me of The Great Gatsby. I also am a fan of the dark haired model, Kinga. She was also in the Balenciaga Spring Summer 2009 ad campaign. Oh ya, this is another Meisel joint. the Fashion Spot
Very strong collection IMO from Balenciaga for Pre-Fall 2009. I am in love with the pants, big time. Looking forward to the detail and high res shots of this. The shoes look very interesting too. See the rest of the collection at Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2009 Collection on Style.com
A bunch of great Pre-Fall 2009 collection came out and Lanvin was one of them. I would love to see the detail shots for this. Is Alber Elbaz always on? He doesn’t seem to have a bad season at all. See the full collection at Lanvin Pre-Fall 2009 Collection on Style.com
I really only like this image from the Yves Saint Laurent Spring Summer 2009 collection ad campaign. It’s very old Hollywood. image: The Fashion Spot
David Yurman Sunglasses I went to the preview of the new David Yurman eyewear line at Josephson Opticians who will be carrying the entire collection exclusively across Canada until end of March 2009. David Yurman is a famous jeweler who is taking the spirit of the jewelry collection and infusing it into the eyewear market. The result are really beautiful glasses that cost a pretty penny. The ones in this picture are about $1000.
True to form the Balenciaga Spring Summer 2009 ad campaign is heavy on the futurism. images: the Fashion Spot – Balenciaga S/S 09 by David Sims
