The October 2012 issue of Harper’s Bazaar China had a beautiful Parisian themed editorial with model Miao Bin Si. For the 26th anniversary of the magazine they fly to Paris for this retro style editorial. I love everything about this editorial. The makeup is perfect and I love seeing the stylist create classic looks using current designers. I’m in love with the Ornate Expectations editorial in FT.com’s How to Spend It magazine. It gets all baroque crazy with the season’s trend and lots of antiques. I’ve included my favourite shots from the editorial here but you can see the entire shoot Howtospendit.ft.com. It’s worth pursuing just for the information about all the items in each of the shots. I’m dying to get my hands on the September 2012 issue of Vogue Paris. There are some great editorials in the magazine and my favourite is Le Noir Partie 2 with Suvi Koponen. This editorial is just so striking. It’s got that creepy gothic feel happening. This is my favourite shot. I find it a bit unsettling with her face covered. The Fashion Cares 25 ad campaign has just been released and man how good does Tara Gill look in this. Smoking! They are working that glitter theme and I love it. This is Dane who is also with Elmer Olsen models. He’s looking great too. A new block of tickets for Fashion Cares 25 at $195 have gone on sale at Ticketmaster. Fashion Cares 25 take place at the Sony Centre For The Performing Arts on September 9, 2012. Prada looked to vintage cars as her inspiration for Spring Summer 2012. The collection is playful and reminds me of Grease. The shoes are pretty killer too. This campaign video doesn’t even come close to being as good as Spring Summer 2011, it’s still pretty fun. Sølve Sundsbø creates a beautiful editorial spread with model Cara Delevingne for the December 2011 issue of Vogue China. I had to do a double take when these Chanel Spring Summer 2012 ad campaign shots came out. What the hell was Joan Smalls doing in a Chanel ad. My head was exploding (this was a good thing in this situation). First, Indian girls in the Chanel Pre-Fall 2012 show and now Joan Smalls in the latest ad campaign. I like this trend. As for this ad campaign overall. Joan doesn’t have as many solo shots as Saskia. The photos are lovely but ultimately pretty boring. It’s Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaign time and I adore the Proenza Schouler ad campaign with Natasha Poly. These shots make the collection look so desirable to me. Except for the shoes, they are still kinda ugly. Photography: Willy Vanderperre Styling: Olivier Rizzo images: fashiongonerogue.com
I like the Givenchy Fall Winter 2011 – 2012 Ad Campaign and I don’t. I love that Mariacarla Boscono and Naomi Campbell are participating but the expressions in the photos seem a little forced. I’m usually a Givenchy die hard but the fall winter 2011 – 2012 season wasn’t appealing to me. Doesn’t make much sense since I usually love cat imagery. The men’s campaign is better executed.
