Hermes Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 Ad Campaign

The Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 ad campaign for Hermès is a lot darker than Spring Summer 2010 which was fairytale like.  The Avengers theme from the runway show goes hand in hand with these photos.  It’s like the lovely spy who is decked head to toe in Hermès makes her getaway with her SO Black Kelly.  She just can’t leave her wardrobe so she gets  her kindly old mentor to have them moved to her safe house by carriage.  Of course, this generous act will result in his death.  Yada, yada, yada.  I should write screenplays.  Ha This is the SO Black Kelly that baghounds have been salivating over. I’m salivating too and I totally realize that the black packaging is definitely selling this bag. Model: Constance Jablonski Photographer: Paolo Roversi images: thefashionspot.com

It gives you a look at the backstage madness, etc. < Check out Susan Tabak’s video of her visit to the showroom. This is a video interview with Suzy Menkes and Riccardo Tisci.

i want: r5.5 White Jubile watch by Rado x Jasper Morrison

I love Rado’s incredibly expensive watches. The collaboration between Rado and and designer Jasper Morrison were some of my favourite things at The Interior Design Show this year. You can read more about the launch of the Rado x Jasper Morrison launch on designboom. The collaboration must have been popular because Rado has unveiled a new style, the r5.5 White Jubile. It’s a White High Tech Ceramic Bracelet, champagne colored sun brushed dial with 8 diamonds, sapphire crystal. It retails for, gulp, $3,000. Of course Rado can be found  at Holt Renfrew and others which you can find the website. rado.com image: Courtesy of RADO

Watch It: Anita’s Awesome Adventure by Jaime Woo

Every time I see the Anita’s awesome adventure video by Jaime Woo it makes my heart quicken. It brings me back to the end of June 2009 on the night that the Holt Renfrew Bloggers Windows were unveiled. This video brings it all back like it was yesterday, it gives me goosebumps. My dear friend last year celebrated her birthday at the same time that Holt Renfrew celebrated her work as a fashion blogger, paying homage to her with a display window. I filmed it as a belated present for her. <3 you, Anita! I hope you all enjoy this little behind the scenes look. It’s a year later and I still can’t believe this happened to me. I’ve had so many amazing opportunities in my life and I can’t help but look back at them and think about how fucking lucky I am. This moment is something that I will always cherish. Thank you Jaime Woo for filming. Thank you Gail Mcinnes for the awesome Louis Vuitton birthday cake. Thank you to everyone who …

Watch It! Les Filles en Vogue

I couldn’t resist posting these videos. The first is a documentary that was a special gift in the June/July 2010 issue of Paris Vogue. featuring five top models of the season: Sessilee Lopez, Sasha Pivovarova, Natasha Poly, Freja Beha Erichsen, and Constance Jablonski, as they experience the latest Paris Fashion Week. Sure, the majority of the short film is in French, but it’s really the behind-the-scenes look which is most intriguing.(source) It’s a lot of fun to get to see the girls personalities. I’m a huge fan of Sasha and Freja. The second is a backstage look at the gorgeous Iselin Steiro by Tyen editorial for Vogue Paris June/July 2010. Tyen is a crazy genius, I love him. Enjoy Fashion Fans.

Ask a Geek: Career Questions – Fashion Stylist

Sometimes readers ask me questions. If they are of value to all my readers I post them online. If you have a question, please feel free to submit it using the contact form. I’ll definitely do my best to answer it. I want – I got reader Valerie wrote: Hello Anita, I am fashion consultant and most importantly a fashion lover! I am from Montreal and I am currently exploring the possibility of moving to Toronto for a career move….I would like to know if you can give me hints on the possibilities for a stylists/image consultant in Toronto. Hi Valerie I’m amazed at the number of fashion career questions I receive as someone who doesn’t really work in the industry. My main industry if you are wondering is IT/Finance. Fashion is a side project. I don’t know much about the ins and outs of things, but I have friends whose brains I can pick. First off there have been some great articles and interviews about fashion careers and stylists in particularly. Interview with an …

What is Quando Quando Quando Dolce & Gabbana?

I got a weird email asking if I knew what Quando Quando Quando was? The email also pointed me to this preview video by Dolce&Gabbana Motion Pictures Movie. After some internet searching I discovered that Quando, Quando, Quando is an Italian pop song from 1962. It translates to When, When, When. I can only assume they are related. My money is that this will be a fashion film for the women’s Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2011 collection. It’s got me curious about what is coming up.

Watch It: Joie de Vivre by Ruth

I’m loving these fashion films by Ruth Hogben on Showstudio. The latest is Joie de Vivre which features Gareth Pugh, and supermodel Raquel Zimmermann, who is absolutely awesome. She knows how to move. Encapsulating all the dark glamour, divine decadence and hedonistic joy of the roaring Twenties, Gareth Pugh’s A/W 2010 collection is a stylised, silver and black Art Deco fantasy projected at breakneck speed into the twenty-first century. Raquel Zimmermann is a model who I never really paid attention to until fairly recently. I finally get it, she’s good. Check out the Joie de Vivre video on ShowStudio.com. image: showstudio.com

Red Canoe Brands Showroom

Red Canoe Brands now has a brick and mortar store in the West end of Toronto. I’ve been a fan of Red Canoe ever since I stumbled on their website many years ago. I really enjoy the aviation and outdoor influence in the line. It’s been great watching them grow from a purely online endeavor to products sold in The Drake General Store to a flagship store in Whistler and now their own showroom in Toronto. Red Canoe draws on these ideals to create unique quality apparel. Tough, comfortable outdoor clothing built to be worn. Dedicated to the promotion of historic and cultural icons, it is classic clothing that, like the symbols it honours, will stand the test of time. President and Founder Dax Wilkinson came by his adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors honestly. Growing up in Northern Ontario, his time was spent flying in the legendary DeHavilland Beaver into remote hunting and fishing camps. Aird Island, his family retreat on the North Channel of Georgian Bay, has been his source of inspiration …
