Proenza Schouler Fall Winter 2013 – 2014 Ad Campaign

One of my favourite models working for some of my favourite designers. I love the Proenza Schouler Fall Winter 2013 – 2014 Ad Campaign with my absolute favourite model, Sasha Pivovarova. There is a campaign video too!! Sasha is looking awesome and I’m glad she’s returned to the fashion world. Photographer: David Sims Model: Sasha Pivovarova images: thefashionspot.com

Lanvin Fall – Winter 2013 -2014 Ad Campaign

I love all the personalities the model, Edie Campbell takes on for the Lanvin Fall – Winter 2013 -2014 Ad Campaign I love the print campaign. The photos are so rich and each look is a real transformation. I’m not a big fan of the ad campaign video for some reason. I find the campaign works better without the talking and I find the men more interesting than Edie for some reason. This is my favourite image and favourite dress of ones featured. Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall – Winter 2013 – 2014

The Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall – Winter 2013 – 2014 collection made me sit up and take notice this year. No it wasn’t because of the clothing, it was the models. The Black Models. Like, finally. Dior has been incredibly lily white since Raf Simons took over. It was a very different to John Galliano’s way of doing things that was a bit more inclusive. Raf isn’t off the hook and I’m not applauding Dior for anything. I’m just happy to look at these beautiful women. Like, Yasmin walked the damn show. That’s awesome. You can watch the Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall – Winter 2013 – 2014 fashion show below. I liked a lot of the clothing too and you can see the rest of the photos for the Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall – Winter 2013 – 2014 collection on Style.com

Schiaparelli Haute Couture by Christian Lacroix Fall – Winter 2013 – 2014

Christian Lacroix kicks off the revival of the House of Schiaparelli with a Haute Couture collection for the Fall Winter 2013 – 2014 season. Every season the House of Schiaparelli will be inviting a different artist to create a Haute Couture collection. These collections aren’t for sale and purely for the love of Couture (and great advertising to boot). There are a couple of videos out that show the collection and interviews with the designer and Schiaparelli spokespeople. The video below is an interview with Christian Lacroix with Suzy Menkes. I think my favourite part of the collection is the hats. Schiaparelli Fall 2013 Couture Collection on Style.com.

Miu Miu Fall – Winter 2013 – 2014 Ad Campaign and Video

The Fall Winter 2013 – 2014 ad campaigns are starting to come out and so far Miu Miu is my favourite. There are some really striking images in the campaign. The love the way the colours seem so saturated and leap off the page. Evoking a spirit of adventure and daring, the Fall/Winter 2013 campaign captures the passage of girls in a twilight cinema-scape loaded with intrigue, imagination and femininity. Set at the end of a seaside pier, their stories unfurl against a mysterious cityscape and vanishing horizon, brought to life in an up-tempo quirky dance video where the models move harmoniously with the rhythm and mood of the music. While standing on the dock of the bay waiting for a ferry, they dance away the fun of the night before returning home in the early morning. In a fabricated reality of noir optimism, Inez & Vinoodh capture a diverse and exhilarating cast of characters including Katlin Aas, Emily DiDonato, Daphne Groeneveld, Georgia May Jagger, Adriana Lima, Marina Nery, Hind Sahli, Anne Verhallen and Lindsey …

Hi-Tec Urban Hike

Hi-Tec and NKPR teamed up to take media on a Toronto Urban Hike in order to discover the new collection of walking and hiking shoes built with the fashion lover in mind. Each participant was given a choice between a number of different casual but functional shoe styles to try out. I went with the Sierra Lite Original high tops in pink. Thanks Hi-Tec! The Sierra Lite Original is Hi-Tec’s original suede and mesh walking boot. The shoe has the qualities of a hiking boot with a high fashion look. We gathered at the NKPR offices in our best urban hiking street style outfits and put on our shoes. It was interesting to see what styles everyone picked. Pink was very popular with the women but only two of us went for the high top Sierra Lite Originals. I was very impressed that they came with a second set of pink laces and I immediately began to switch out the white pair. They really wanted to show us that you don’t need to break in …

geekiviews: Tickled Pink Foundation Garment by Saxton Chayse

Foundation garments are a staple in my wardrobe. The use slips, camisole and tshirts are a common practice in my fashion world. I’ve added a new must have item to my foundational garment roster, the Tickled Pink undershirt. It’s the perfect garment as it works as an undershirt and prevents sweat marks and pit stains without resorting to using those underarm adhesive pads. Saxton Chayse sent me a Tickled Pink undershirt to test drive last summer. It wasn’t something that I thought of using during that season so I didn’t look at it until the fall. I was in love after our first outing, it was a miracle worker. I tend to sweat a lot and avoid wearing long sleeves some days because of embarrassing sweat stains. With Tickled Pink I no longer worry about it because of the triple layered pad sewn into the armpits. It’s not bulky which surprised me as that was one of my initial concerns. The deep v neckline and short sleeves accommodates all kinds of outfits. The synthetic fabric …

I want – I got’s Luminato Festival 2013 Top Picks

The Luminato Festival is upon us once again. There are so many things to see and do during the festival. Toronto is lucky to have a few Marina Abramovic’s works to take in also. Here are I want – I got’s top picks of the festival to get your started on your festival planning. The Life and Death of Marina Abramovic Unfortunately this is sold out. I was lucky enough to see the show on June 14. It was haunting, beautiful and random. I loved it completely and shamelessly. Willam Dafoe (who I love even more now) and Antony were perfection. It’s a performance that will stick with me for a very long time. I hope to be able to see it again in the future.
