EDIT: Oct 24, 2009 Wellingtons are easy to find in the city now. See the Hunter Wellingtons in Toronto post. I received a comment about the availability of Hunter Wellingtons in Toronto. I decided to email Hunter of Scotland Ltd to find out. I figured there would not be many Canadian distributors. I actually expected there to be none. I was wrong there is one. The London Trading Post is located in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. They do have an ecommerce website, so it’s possible to order some. So, while there are no local retailers there is somewhere where you can purchase authentic Hunter Wellingtons in Canada (it’s damn pricey otherwise). Sephora which is suppose to be the beauty superstore only carries the Lip Venom. Holt Renfrew on the other hand carries the whole DuWop lineup. YSL Heels S/S 2006 I love these shoes even though I would never be able to afford them. Apparently chunky heels and platforms are back for S/S 2006. Cuddle Pullover by Lululemon I’m not a crazy Lululemon junkie. I own none of their shorts, tank tops or pants. I do own this and another hoodie though and I really love them. The test of a great hoodie is in the hood and these are great. Lululemon hoodies are made to last using super thick cotton. They are preshrunk so you can toss then in the dryer. To be honest, it took me a year to put my other hoodie in the dryer. I’m obsessive with my clothes and wash anything I really, really care about in cold water and I hang it to dry. Oh and it’s black, not pink like the picture.

My Fashion Week Daily email told me that Holt Renfrew is launching a Designer kids division. Now label whoring parents can dress their child in the same duds. Maybe this will create some bonding between parents and kids now they can shop in the same store. It just seems silly to buy a D & G Junior baby jumper when the kid will:

1. puke, piss and crap all over the thing
2. outgrow it in a few months.

Fashion victims are getting younger these days. Get ready parents your 5 year old is going to be asking for Dior.

(TORONTO) Luxury department store Holt Renfrew is launching a Designer Clothes for Kids division in March 2006 at Toronto’s Bloor Street and Yorkdale locations, as well as in Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Vancouver. A launch party is scheduled at the Bloor Street flagship for March 4th. Fall launches are scheduled in the Sherway Gardens and Ste Foy stores.

I discovered Etsy.com on boingboing.

Etsy is an online marketplace for buying and selling all things handmade. Etsy lets you shop by color, place, time and material.

I can browse this site for days on end, there is just so many different things to look at. For example I purchased this tank top from Little Odd Forest out of Singapore.

I am head over heels in love with this coat. Click this link, you need to see a larger version of this picture. You need to look at that collar closely. This coat is dramatic, a statement ( I honestly didn’t lift that from the Nordstrom’s site, I noticed the similarity afterwards). If you are a size 12, Nordstrom is the place to buy. I’ll be keeping my eyes out on eBay though.

Well, they went on sale late last week. You can order online here. They retail for $105.00US. Shipping to Canada is a hefty $27.18 US (Total CDN $152.87), and then their is Mr. Taxman at the border. I’m not sure what the duty would be on this item. While I love hoodies, the unexpected suprise Taxman hit will prevent me from ordering as of yet. Perhaps if the word spreads and the hoodie takes off, we’ll see some local availablity.

Kenneth Cole Teal Shoes These cute teal heels are my first pair of Kenneth Cole shoes. I almost passed these up, but had to head back to Winners before someone else grabbed them. I have always been interested in a pair of coloured heels and these just called out to me. Paper Denim and Cloth Jeans 30 bucks for a pair of Paper denim. I had a hard time passing that up. They are a great length for heels but I still might get them hemmed a touch. I bought these at Five on Spadina – map it!!!

I’ve come across some very cool handbags in the last few days.Missoni Velvet Satchel This bag is beautiful. I love everything about this bag. I love the colour scheme and pattern; the unusual shape and the hardware used for the clasp. This luxurious bag is made of black leather and velvet.
