I visited the site of the company that makes the funky Haramaki from Japan. I’ve decided to post some additional pictures of haramaki style. They probably are pretty easy to make if people have that sewing talent thing.
It’s taken a few seasons but I’ve come to like Marni a lot. My favourite partsof the collections are the wonderful coats. Here is a selection of the coats from the Marni Spring 2007 collection.
Marc Jacobs delivered a collection that I actually like. Clean lines and beautiful tailoring. I’m in shock. I’m loving the hats too and the yellow bags.
Anne Valérie Hash shoes I can’t explain why I like these heels by Anna Valerie Hash. I think it’s the heel height and the strange forefoot covering. I think menswear when I see them, but can’t place that influence in them. Anna Valerie Hash shoes were available Holt Renfrew but has since been dropped. Holt’s just took their shoe department back from Browns.

I want – I got reader Malou wrote to tell me about her online store Bamboo Closet. The store features handmade products by independent designers from the Philippines and the rest of Asia. Created in October 2006, Malou with her partners Isa and Joanna have created a company with a mission to “empower the artisans and their communities by developing a sustainable business capacity to compete in the global marketplace.” They also promote “social consumerism” by educating buyers to the origins of the items they purchase. I particularly liked the handbags the site has to offer. Bombshell Wristlet bag Katol Tote In addition to handbags, the store carries a variety of handmade items like jewelery, pet accessories, home decor, art and clothing. Bamboo Closet has graciously offered I want – I got readers a 10% discount on all items. Please use the discount code IWG202710 at checkout. This offer will expire on April 1, 2007. images: BambooCloset.com
The Essential Toolbag by S. Stein I fell in love with this bag which takes on the tool belt and makes it fabulous, such kitsch. I love all the pockets. They are always more of a pain in the ass than anything. I spend so much time looking for my keys or lip balm because of all the pockets. I still love them though, totally makes no sense. The bag is made of industrial strength canvas and has suede pockets. Inspired by the high functionality and natural materials of classic carpenter bags and toolbelts; reinterpreted for the modern industrious woman. Not sold in stores here but available online. via Popgadget: Personal Tech for Women images: ssteindesign.com
I wrote about wanting this Marc Jacobs cape in the fall. I happened to see a few of them at Holt Renfrew yesterday on sale. It looks like they didn’t sell to well because there were few left over. They even had one in my size, sigh. It was still not cheap enough for me to buy it.
Andrea dropped me an email to let me know about her online store, The Honeyroom. She offers eclectic accessories and tshirts. I checked out her online boutique and she’s definitely hit on some trends with her offerings. 1. Strawberries – Andrea has this covered with red and black necklaces for sale. 2. Owls – She’s tapped into the Owl trend with necklaces in gold, brass and silver. I actually own an owl necklace very similar to the silver version Andrea sells. There are some Owl earrings too. The items I want are the wide yellow belt and this Burnt Orange shopper handbag. She is currently running a promotion. You get 15% off on orders of $40 more. Just enter the code honey1978 at checkout.
