I stumbled across some news about a local grafitti artist named Skam. Â He was commissioned to add some artwork to the LV wall for their Stephen Sprouse campaign. Â Skam is among a number of graffiti artists that Louis Vuitton is calling on in various cities to help with this tribute.

The photos for Marios Schwab’s Fall 2009 – 2010 collection were decent and I thought the collection was pretty good. It was only after seeing the Marios Schwab Fall 2009 -2010 video did it all come together as a favourite London show. The white dress above is one of my favourites from the collection. I really enjoyed his prints too.

I didn’t care much for Marc’s ode to the 80s this season. I do appreciate that Marc has the funds to do a pure fashion collection and not care about sales. That’s what leather goods and accessories are for.

Erdem was a collection that didn’t translate to wow in photos. The shapes looked ackward and the colours a tad garish. I think I’m having a hard time processing prints again because of the darkness that surrounded NYC fashion week. London has been much more colourful. I was on the fence about things and decided that I need to see the collection video. Photos don’t tell the whole store and I always like to refer to video evidence.
The Erdem Fall 2009 – 2010 collection video is a memorizing piece of work. The patterns and colour palette make sense. The shapes display their true form in motion. I’m a fan.

Edit: Dec 8, 2009: Toronto Life has a post saying that The Bay and Topshop are in talks. We’ll see where this goes.
If you follow me on twitter you would have been some of the first people to hear about Topshop coming to Canada.
But the really good news? Asked when Topshop will be opening in Canada, Sir Philip Green, owner of the megachain that has some 2,000 stores in 30 countries, replied: “Six to nine months.” (source)
No word on location. My guesses are Yorkdale and Eaton Center.
Many people are very excited about this news. Right now I’m indifferent. I would have to see Topshop in person to make a final decision about things. I don’t want to make judgments based on the Kate Moss collection that was in Holt Renfrew because I wasn’t impressed. I also don’t want to make judgments based on the Topshop Unique Fall 2009 – 2010 collection because there were some very large fashion crimes happening.

Macqua is a Berlin based designer that I discovered this fashion week. They don’t have any shops in North America that stock the brand and that is probably why I haven’t hear of it until now. I really love the dress above.
Rad Hourani delivered another beautiful collection for Fall 2009 – 2010. He added some navy blue to the mix and a touch of glitter. Check out Reborn and Holt’s for Canadian sources of Rad’s clothing.
