I really liked the Halston Ready To Wear – Fall 2009 -2010 collection presentation. Like many labels, they opted out of New York fashion week and created a video presentation that launched on the Halston website. It doesn’t give you a good look at the clothing, which might be a good thing. I saw the fall 2009 collection on wwd and it isn’t that great. They really need a Creative Director behind that brand as it looked like a collection formed by consensus. There were a couple great jumpsuits and that’s it.

Shoulders, color blocking, skinny pants, black, futuristic urban warrior vibe. Check on all counts, I’m a sucker every time.

Tse Ready to Wear – Fall Winter 2009 – 2010
TSE is a brand know for their cashmere so when I look at this burnt orange layered garment I get giddy. I love cashmere. The good stuff is soft and light. You want to eat it all up, it’s so delectable.

i want Sergio Rossi Zip Back Sandals

They are back again; this time in another colour. Sergio Rossi did these in seaform that caught my eye in the summer of 2008. This muted version is nice also.
IDS09 Favourite Things: 5×5: 5 Designers. 5 Inspired Spaces – 64th & Queen – Rec Room Redux
64th and Queen created the ultimate recroom. I loved the black and white colour scheme and the light fixtures.
I thought 64th and Queen did a great job, then I figured out why. They are the team that put on the Valentino and DSquared2 fashion shows in Toronto. They also designed L’Oreal Fashion Week and the Queen West shop Jacflash.
The bed was raised off the ground, love it!

IDS09 Favourite Things: Design Talks – Design Trends by the Minute
On Saturday I saw the presentation Design Talks – Design Trends by the Minute. It was a round table featuring some of the biggest bloggers in the Design world: Harry Wakefield (mocoloco.com), Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan (Apartment Therapy) and Grace Bonney (design*sponge).
It was interesting to hear how they started and their opinions on blogging. It was interesting to hear that Grace Bonney doesn’t use social media or RSS. A little surprising about the RSS and not so much about the social media as she was the only one on stage without a death grip on their smartphones.
I was on Twitter and posted some key points.
It was really interesting to hear that they all are moving away from Blogrolls, saying that content is the new blogroll. Chew on that for a bit bloggers.

Marni Platform suede slingbacks

Marni has falling off my radar lately. It’s been a lot of the same clashy mess stuff for the last few seasons. I do like this shoe though and I love the wooden heel.

I love the volume of this cardigan by Anzevino & Florence . It’s made of silk jersey so the drape would be perfect. Fawn in Toronto carries Anzevino & Florence clothing. They may even have this cardigan.

I want: Sweatshirt crop top by Alexander Wang
Alexander Wang Crop Top Sweatshirt

The back of this sweatshirt is just fantastic. I’m not a big fan of the crop top look but it would make a great layering piece.
Alexander Wang is found in Canada at Reborn, Holt Renfrew, Alice & Olivia and Misch.
