I never did get those YSL Tribute Boots but I’m glad the shape of the boot is trickling down so that I can get another chance to snag that shape. These Luxury Rebel boots remind me of the YSL Tribute Boot style. I’m pretty smitten with them. I actually prefer the brown studded pair to the basic black. These will be available at Holt Renfrew at the end of June.
Greta Constantine Trunk Show Roundup Greta Constantine held a Trunk Show in Toronto on Friday and Saturday. I stopped by Saturday and grabbed some snaps of the crew. Kirk and Stephen were on hand to meet with customers and fans. I’m told the event was successful. Greta Constantine is available in Canada at Holt Renfrew. Holt’s is also carrying the Anita Dress in Navy Blue and Red Belt.

There is nothing I love more than getting a sneak preview of anything fashion related. I was pretty pumped for the Holt Renfrew Fall 2009 – 2010 Womenswear Media preview. What new goodies did the buyers bring back for us interested fashion folk. Special bonus was an appearance by Joseph Altuzarra. He is being touted as the one to watch by many. His stuff is pretty hot, I have to admit. He was an intern at Marc Jacobs and freelanced for Proenza Schouler. Riccardo Tisci also recruited him to be a design assistant at Givenchy. His first collection was Spring 2008. He was absolutely adorable. How can you not love a guy whose primary muse is his Mom. The event was held in the 3rd floor Contemporary area. I was reading nitrolicious and she posted the shoes from the Omelle Fall 2009 collection. There were some interesting choices and fur was predominate. I fell in love with these are first sight. They are one of the shoes that you look at puzzled at first but they suck you into their randomness. I haven’t seen a shoe with this type of detailing yet. I have a feeling they look fantastic on. These booties are very cool too. They look like felt to me, which would be an interesting development. I’m still looking for my over the knee boots, these would make a good option Yup, no fur in my choices. They weren’t completely hideous, but definitely not my style. I love the image on the landing page for Jeremy Laing website. It doesn’t look as impressive in this image so I suggest you click on the Jeremy Laing link to get a look at it in its glory. I just wanted to mention the image because it was so striking, but this is an i want post and the object of my affection is Jeremy Laing’s Fall 2009 – 2010 collection. I love it when Jeremy posts the collection on his site. You get photos from another angle and get to see some the details that you’d miss otherwise. There is a lot of beautiful details in this collection. Doesn’t this just scream wear me. The gloves, the little swish of the skirt, the freaking collar. I want! Yes, you read that heading right. I do have a dress named after me. Joy!!!!!! I was super honoured to find out, as I had no idea this was coming. Up until a few weeks ago, I didn’t even know what the dress looked like. People were asking me about it and all I could say is that it’s Greta Constantine, it will be amazing. So, I get a nice email in my inbox with the Greta Constantine Jersey Dress Lookbook. There is also a little note letting me that the Anita is part of the group. I’m hear to talk style for the SpinTO party on May 15, 2009 (Friday!!!). I don’t have my outfit yet. I have a back up plan, that’s the gold plan. I have another idea, but it’s more sporty than gold. With an unlimited budget however my Sporty SpinTO party outfit would be amazing. So, I thought I would dream up an “i want” SpinTO style. My favourite pieces are from ThreeASFOUR I’m head over heels for this catsuit. Paired with a sheer tunic or tank top, sigh! Of course there is the hotter than hell Alexander McQueen legging and top combo. You can do it Prada Style. I’m particularly fond of the yellow House of Holland bicycle shorts. I pair it with a nice white racerback tank. Or Alexander Wang, who even showcased bicycle shorts in leather for Fall 2009. They aren’t pictured because they are kinda ugly. I went to the Brose Fall 2009 – 2010 preview at the Lausberg Contemporary Gallery. I heard of Brose through a Globe and Mail Style Council mailing list and have been salivating ever since. Remember, I need more feathers in my life. Brose is a very romantic line; think ballerina shapes, feathers, velvet and ruffles. There is some more tailored pieces that reminded me of Calvin Klein or Jil Sander, very modern with clean, straight lines. The fabrics are incredible quality and the construction is fantastic (Canadian made baby). Marika Brose is a graduate of ESDOM Paris and FIT. She has worked at Chloe and Pink Tartan as a designer; had stints as a buyer for Bloomingdale’s, Armani Exchange and The Bay and rounded out her experience in marketing at Holt Renfrew and Prada. She knows the business inside and out. I loved a lot of the collection. I felt the velvet was best as skirts. Some of the dresses had some serious boning to them. Belvedere Vodka and Bustle Clothing collaborated during LG Fashion Week. Nine Canadian graffiti artists were tapped to create bags for Bustle’s Fall 09 collection, featuring the aesthetic of Belvedere’s new IX bottle. The bags are pretty cool and I thought I’d share them. I thought about linking to the new Belvedere product but the website offends my sensibilities so you’ll have to google it for yourself.

The Greta Constantine Ready to Wear Fall 2009 – 2010 show as held at The Courthouse. I had been hearing good things from Kirk and Stephen for months. I got a look at the fabric swatches in the fall, but I never saw the collection. I would have to wait to see this so called amazing collection. So, I’ve been on pins and needles for months wondering what the boys will come up with. I was hearing about dresses named after people I know and how freaking stunning they are. There was some logistical problems getting into the venue due to all the people there. It’s an interesting venue but I heard if you didn’t have a seat you didn’t see anything. The room had high ceilings and it was a little dark. I was talking with one of the Holts crew and she likened the atmosphere to a Miu Miu show, which was very accurate. The runway was a problem too. There was a section where I was sitting that was wood and incredibly …
