House of Holland Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

House of Holland Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010   The world stopped for me when I started to look at the House of Holland Fall 2009 – 2010 collection.  I actually liked it.  I normally hate everything House of Holland does.   The simple concept worked for me; Pantone madness.  As I’ve said to others “It’s a colour blocking monstrosity, but I like it”. The House of Holland Fall 2009 – 2010 video was cute. The models were smiling and having a good time. He actually did some menswear, that was left out of the WWD page, but are in the video. images: wwd.com

Marios Schwab Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

The photos for Marios Schwab’s Fall 2009 – 2010 collection were decent and I thought the collection was pretty good. It was only after seeing the Marios Schwab Fall 2009 -2010 video did it all come together as a favourite London show. The white dress above is one of my favourites from the collection. I really enjoyed his prints too. EDIT: Here is a link to the video Marios Schwab Fall 2009 – 2010 images: wwd.com

Erdem Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

Erdem was a collection that didn’t translate to wow in photos. The shapes looked ackward and the colours a tad garish. I think I’m having a hard time processing prints again because of the darkness that surrounded NYC fashion week. London has been much more colourful. I was on the fence about things and decided that I need to see the collection video. Photos don’t tell the whole store and I always like to refer to video evidence. The Erdem Fall 2009 – 2010 collection video is a memorizing piece of work. The patterns and colour palette make sense. The shapes display their true form in motion. I’m a fan. I won’t even post a lot of photos; it’s pointless. You need to watch the video to appreciate this. Watch – Erdem Fall 2009 – 2010 collection video. PHI Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

Thank the fashion gods for the Phi Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010. I first learned about PHI during New York fashion week. I attended the show which was housed in this huge warehouse which required the use of a huge freight elevator. It was cool. I got to see a lot of my fav models like Sasha, Du Juan, Freja. I was happy to see the label didn’t let me down during a season where there are slim pickings. images: Phi F/W 09.10 New York – the Fashion Spot

Temperley Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

Temperley Fall 2009 – 2010 collection is another label redeeming New York for me. I’m glad there are a few gems throughout the metallic mess. The jackets are really great in this collection. I saw Temperley Spring 2008 when I was in New York. I remember her afterparty was pretty kickass. Memories of fashion week. images: Temperley London F/W 09.10 New York – the Fashion Spot.

Rodarte Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

OMG, Rodarte is perfection. I am calling it now and Rodarte wins for best collection of NYC. Their clothing is a lesson in textiles; incorporating colour and texture. They get better year after year. The collection wasn’t all black either, that is a big bonus in my books this season. images: Rodarte F/W 09.10 New York – Page 5 – the Fashion Spot.

Philip Sparks Ready to Wear – Fall 2009- 2010 Lookbook

Philip Sparks Ready to Wear – Fall 2009- 2010 Lookbook Philip told me that his theme for fall was Peter and the Wolf. I thought it was an interesting concept. I had no idea that Philip would execute it to such perfection. I’m in love with this menswear collection. It’s the best Philip Sparks collection yet. The everything about this lookbook is perfection. The models, the backdrop, the clothing, the fur. Congratulations on such a wonderful collection Philip, I can’t wait to see this in March. images: Philip Sparks Fall 2009 | The Fashionisto.

Jeremy Laing Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

Jeremy Laing Ready to Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010. I’m a big fan of this collection The Jeremy Laing Fall 2009 video is what sealed the deal for me. Everything looks so good moving. The music selection is perfect. Things that I thought I didn’t like in print came to life in video. There is also a video of Jeremy backstage and he gives us more insight into the inspiration for the collection and it’s construction. images: style.com

Ohne Titel Ready To Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

Ohne Titel Ready To Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010 The collection was pretty dark, but a few pieces really stood out for me. They all involved something that looked like metal applique. It was a beautiful touch adding texture and tough edge to the clothing. images: thefashionspot – See the whole collection Ohne Titel Ready To Wear – Fall 2009 – 2010

i want Rick Owens Washed and Gathered Leather Jacket

Rick Owens – Washed and Gathered Leather Jacket How freaking hot is this leather jacket by Rick Owens. It’s has more volume compared to most of his sleeker leathers. He keeps the signature slim sleeves with high armholes that makes a Rick Owens jacket a dream to wear. It’s cropped and it reminds me of a bomber jacket put through the Rick Owenantor. image: luisaviaroma.com

Halston Ready To Wear – Fall 2009 -2010

I really liked the Halston Ready To Wear – Fall 2009 -2010 collection presentation. Like many labels, they opted out of New York fashion week and created a video presentation that launched on the Halston website. It doesn’t give you a good look at the clothing, which might be a good thing. I saw the fall 2009 collection on wwd and it isn’t that great. They really need a Creative Director behind that brand as it looked like a collection formed by consensus. There were a couple great jumpsuits and that’s it.
