Linda and Prada, not pretty

I mused about the Fall Winter 2008 – 2009 ad campaign for Prada in a post called “Linda and Prada, hmm”. The results are out and it’s not pretty. click for larger images. The blue shoes in picture number 3 are stunning! The shoe shots are amazing though. See the all the images here.

Jil Sander Fall Winter 2008 – 2009 Ad Campaign

I’m loving the Jil Sander Ad Campaign. I was a fan of his collection this season. His architectural take on the collar had me hooked. Lara Stone looks amazing in these. I’m not a big Natasha fan, but I like her profile shots. via the Fashion Spot – Jil Sander F/W 08.09 : Natasha Poly, Lara Stone & Matvey Lykov by Willy Vanderperre images: same source

Dior Homme – Spring Summer 2009

Dior Homme – Spring Summer 2009 “I like it. It’s like Mark Ronson and Kanye West dressed Justin Timberlake… and somehow Dolly Parton’s best bedazzler got thrown into the mix on a pair of hideous golden pants.” , TFS member KhaoticKharma. I think if you would wear these sunglasses, you would like this collection. However, it’s getting trashed on thefashionspot.

Alexander McQueen Ready to Wear – Mens Spring Summer 2009

Alexander McQueen Ready to Wear – Mens Spring Summer 2009 If I was to ever dress alike with a man, I would want us to be wearing this. This is the genius of McQueen. Without seeing the images, would I never consider a black and white ombre dress and suit combination, but here I am, salivating. The dress is 10 times better than the suit. The dress is fantastic. click for larger images! images: thefashionspot.com EDIT: See the dress in high res

Neil Barrett Ready to Wear – Mens Spring Summer 2009

the Fashion Spot – Neil Barrett Mens S/S 09 Milan I really love this look from Neil Barrett’s collection. Two things to note. 1. Stirrup pants on Men are wrong, wrong, wrong. And in leather infinitely wrong. 2. The new pant silhouette for women is the cigar shape (3rd Thumbnail, click for a bigger look). It certainly doesn’t work for everyone. If you see a hint of hip, forget it. Neil Barrett does some nice ones though. images: thefashionspot.com

Proenza Schouler Ready to Wear – Resort 2009

It’s weird. I’m really loving some of the looks for Resort that I probably shouldn’t. I can’t explain what draws me to these looks and I can’t believe I like the jumpsuit. The collar on this jacket is great. Some looks I just don’t get though, like this one via the Fashion Spot – Proenza Schouler Resort 2009 images: thefashionspot.com

i want…

Tibi Printed mini dress I’m all about the mini this summer. It’s strange. As I got older the skirt lengths got longer, but this summer I’m just dying for more mini skirts, dresses, anything that shows a ton of leg. This dress has a lovable obnoxious print and it’s short as all hell.

TFI New Labels 2008 – Style Shots

Canadian jewelery designer, Karen McClintock looks lovely. Hot shoes! There are a few people in Toronto that make my style icons list. One is Mary from Holt’s and the other is journalist Nathalie Atkinson. She looks amazing all the time and is a huge supporter of Canadian fashion. She was a ravishing display of colour that night. Here is a run down of her outfit. glasses by Rapp (handmade in Toronto!) garden insect necklace of vintage buttons and charms, made custom to theme by the amazing Clare Ramen of Buttercup Days vintage fabric clutch by Bennie & Olive silk drape skirt and silk draped top both by Véronique Miljkovitch of Montreal (bought at the MADE show last season, but you can buy her stuff at Model Citizen and Basia in town) shoes by Chie Mihara – not Canadian Andrew Sardone rocked the yellow shoes.
