Balenciaga Ready to Wear – Spring 2009

At first look, I wasn’t into the Balenciaga Spring collection. I’ve looked at the collection again and seen the details. I’m now a fan. Nicolas Ghesquière has gone heavy on the Sci-Fi and I love him for it. It’s not quite like Spring 2007, my dream Balenciaga collection, but it’ll do. I’m going to name the shoes The Tron Shoes. I can’t say I would wear them, but they intrigue me because of their construction. It’s more than a sock over some shoes. images: www.thefashionspot.com, style.it

It featured a few looks from Pre-Spring 2009 and it includes the dress I salivated over from the menswear show. Alexander McQueen Striped column dress Isn’t it fantastic. Crazy Lady is now a trend

Refinery29 had me laughing with their top 13 trends from London Fashion Week Crazy Lady. Over the top, under the table. We can’t tell which it is, but we still feel a certain sisterhood with this level of eccentricity. So maybe we’re crazy, too. From left: Temperley, Topshop Unique, Aquascutum, Topshop Unique Crazy Lady is now an official trend. I wonder how this is going to play out in Spring 2009. We still have Paris to see if this trend will become entrenched or not. In New York, Marc Jacobs kicked off the trend.
